Lots of the structures in Astoria are pretty run down. Especially along the river.

Tastes like half the IPAs I’ve brewed.
It’s good, don’t get me wrong, but the style is starting to feel stale.
Hops are so popular that the malt is in the trunk, not even the back seat.

This is an excellent beer.
It drinks like a hazy. Pillowy mouthfeel. Smooth.
But it’s clear as a bell.
I’d have another for sure.

Pours black with tan head. Notes of coffee, chocolate and caramel. Starts a bit sweeter than desired/expected and finishes mildly bitter.

Looks like it's lights out for another old Portland brewery. I remember when they opened 29 years ago.

Hair of the Dog Brewery announces last day of operation: Sunday, June 26

Founder, owner and brewer Alan Sprints had announced in February he would retire and close the legendary brewery in summer, but he hadn't yet set the final day of operation until Tuesday.
