Blue Lab PH pens are not good

I mean it’s a pretty simple question. Why would you need a replaceable tip. Do you not care for your equipment properly?

Can someone recommend something better please? I have been through TWO Bluelab PH pens in just three months and have come to the conclusion that they are no longer a quality product. Their customer service is awful as well.

Claiming they are no good without explanation says little if anything. Whats the issue? Do you rinse in RO or distilled and keep it in storage solution?

All the brands mentioned in this thread are good. Almost all issues with name brand meters are user error.

The apera ph60 is cracking piece of kit for not a lot of money, you can buy a replaceable tip for it.

A replacement tip saves buying a new unit

Tips/probes/electrodes age, but they can last for years with good care. Mine is still accurate after 4-5 years, but it has gotten slower to react and stabilize.

And they have at least 3 different probes for it. I'm quite happy with the PH60 I bought several months ago, it matches my Milwaukee MW102 within a couple hundredths of a point.

You know you can make your own storage solution for cheap too. It's just KCl.

So if I bought another soil pH pen I'd spend a little more for the Apera.

But I barely ever use it, so it's all good. If I ever bust the probe, I'll buy an Apera.

I guess you might want one if you are careless with your equipment? Then it might make sense to spend another $50 for a model with a replaceable tip.

The Apera model with a replaceable tip is $50 more than the Bluelab soil pH pen. The replaceable tip is $100. So for $150 the same cost of a brand new Bluelab pen you can replace your tip. Brilliant.

Only ph meter i would recomend is blue lab..
The combo meter lets you change out the pribe if you dont take care of it
