First time grower in RDWC

I mixed it up. I’m trying to switch from ppm to ec. My meter has a L M H on the ec setting. Low setting measures 0-100, M is 100-2000, H is 2-?(I think it said 200 can’t remember off top of my head)It’s Apera EC60. I got 390us. I think that is .39 EC.

They are equivalent values
1000 micosiemens= 1 millisiemen

A couple hours after changing the water in the tray, to 1ml each per gal of MGB no cal-mag 5.8ph. I went and looked at them and it looks like one might be getting burnt at the tip of its leaf. It’s only this one so far. Should I dilute it or give it more time?00B32B06-3A65-4932-822D-ECAAB1F719F8.jpeg

I have two germination trays. What I’ve been doing is ebb and flow style I have one tray with nutes mixed up and one tray is dry. 3-4 times a day I set them in the nutes tray for 45mins-1hr then put it back in the dry tray.

I had a 1/4” of water in the tray letting it wick up. When I seen the burn on the tips I got nervous and posted pic and asked about the tip burning. At that point I set them in the dry tray while waiting to see what the thought was. Diluted or give it time. As they dried out I set them in the nute tray.

Saturday I added the mix we talked about to the tray. I watched the UFC so I was up late and at 3am yesterday before going to bed I seen the burn. That’s when I took them out and put them in my spare tray. In the morning they looked like they were drying out I didn’t see any response yet and wasn’t sure if I should give it more time or dilute so I just set them back in it to wick so it didn’t dry out. After I let it wick I moved it back to the dry tray. Later in the day they were drying out again. I still didn’t see any response so I did it again.

a few questions for you:

1. are you taking the rapid rooters out of the wet tray and putting it in the dry tray?

2. what is your humidity at? needs to be at least 60%RH

3. are the rapid rooters getting dry at all?

Yes they are in dry tray right now. Before this weekend I had the water low in the tray. I had to suck some out of the bottom to pour over the top because they were drying out.

The humidity is 50-60% it flux through the day.

Yes the rapid rooters are getting dry.

5.8ph. I had one time I got distracted and didn’t check the water untill after I took them out and it was 6.15ph.

Yes they are in dry tray right now.
but are you actually lifting each RR out of one tray and placing it in another? if so, you are "probably" damaging the roots doing so.

i keep my RR's soaking wet so you can keep your water level in the trays halfway or so.

RH and pH sounds good to me.

and just to be clear, your EC is with 1mL of each MGB and it comes out to about 0.39, right? no other additives?

and one more thing to clear up for me, you can add water to the top of each tray as they suck up the water.

when you looked at the roots last, what did they look like? i'm guessing there are fairly long and alot sticking out of the RR???

The tray with squares is separate from the bottom tray so I lift the tray not the individuals. When I took the pictures is last time I picked them up. I put a very lil bit of great white shark in the water but other than that it’s just the MGB I did .75ml to 3/4 of a gallon so it’s a 1ml to 1 gal ratio.

I originally was leaving them in the water tray. I only took them out yesterday morning and started moving the tray between the dry bottom and the one with nutes. I was just nervous to leave them in the water if it was burning them.

most of your grow seems to be on point. only thing that i notice is the drying out of the RR's. try to keep them nice and moist for the next day or so and see what happens. if the next set of leaves look OK, you should be fine. then start thinking about transferring them

what light cycle are you running now?
