When did it crack? Heating it? Or did you cool it too fast?

Heating it. I had used it a dozen times in the oven but the grill took it out. It was just a cheap pizza stone the lady got from T.J. Max, Ross, or one of the other places she likes to go looking for deals on things we don't need.

My cheap stone has worked awesome in my oven. Now I know not to put it on the grill I guess. Darkwing Duck's stone looks like a higher quality stone. What are you using DW?

I'm not buying anymore stones. I'll just use cast iron. Stovetop to oven to grill to charcoal.

Since the stone broke I've just been using a Lodge 10.5"griddle. It's a perfect size for the two of us. I'll make two 10" pies and we have lunch for the next day.

I'm getting one of these cast iron units. 14" and it has a ton of functionality.

Since the stone broke I've just been using a Lodge 10.5"griddle. It's a perfect size for the two of us. I'll make two 10" pies and we have lunch for the next day.

I'm getting one of these cast iron units. 14" and it has a ton of functionality.

I’m experimenting with an 8x8 cast iron square … personal Sicilianos.
Sliced mozzarella on the dough, then the red sauce, and finished with parmagiano reggiano.

Some hot-dogs for Canada Day (I know hot-dogs are American, but poutine is too much work).

Fried up a couple of wieners, and ham with melted mozzarella cheese


was going to slap on the ketchup and mustard, then remembered I have leftover chilli


Hence chilli dogs, with potato salad, coleslaw and of course beer (which happens to be Pabst Blue Ribbon....once again not very Canadian of me).

They don't make things like they used to - think of how many people relegated their old fridge out to the garage during a remodel, it still works fine but doesn't fit the style any longer.

I have an old sewing machine that my grandmother originally purchased at Sears in the late 60's. It's solid metal and could be used as a boat anchor. It still works and I use it when needed. The new machines cost a ton of money and are made out of cheap plastic. I have a friend that has some fancy unit they paid a ton of money for and have to take it in for repairs yearly for one thing or another.
