2nd grow, just started measuring ppm and had a couple questions if anyone's got a min.

I didn't need to feed this week so I tested the run off of my ffof soil. It was in the 1500's. From what I've gathered that tells me I don't need to feed, maybe for a few waterings, bc that is pretty high? And for instance on my last grow when I followed a feeding schedule I was just loading it up with nutrients it wasn't using? And maybe that is why the fabric pots I used are covered in what appears to me salt or other minerals? Should I wait until I get readings in the 800's to start feeding again? I was using bottled spring water which was 8ppm. I fed 4 days ago.

Here's some pics. I did some lst. I think I'm doing it right. It seems pretty simple. I wondered if I shouldn't have tied back the fan leaves?

Don't worry about measuring runoff and measure what you are feeding it. Chasing runoff will just create issues that aren't there.

LST looks good. Just keep those main shoots tied down.

Thank you man, I was confused about the run off ppm. I've got a person helping who's telling me not to feed bc of the run off ppm. But I fed based on a feeding schedule last time and they turned out great. If I wait until my run off ppm is lower they won't get fed for a little while and I didn't think that was going to be beneficial. Thanks for the reply

The branches on this one are so freaking short. I don't know what to do with them atm. I'm going to take your advice and just tie them down. They're so low though that it's making watering a pain in the ass. The other one is growing fine I think.

they look wet.
red curved stems,and puckered /puffy in between the veins,and stems are not erect.
leaves should be at a 45 degree angle from the veins if that makes sense.

You shouldn't be watering to run off in organic soil sir. When your pot is light and you water you need to take note of how much water the soil holds and not over water every time

I just recently read that. I thought I was supposed to get run off. My problem bow is I added prob 30% more perlite this time. I didn't know exactly how it was going to effect watering. Honestly I never thought about it. Last grow in straight ffhf, no extra perlite. I'd water about 3/4 gal and get maybe 8oz of run off. Like I said, I thought that was what I was supposed to do. But dude when I watered these new ones with 3/4 gal the whole damn tray was full of run off water. I dropped it to 1/2 gal this last watering and still had maybe 8oz of run off. It's crazy. I don't feel like I can evenly saturate a 3 gal pot with less than 1/2 gallon of water. If it's 30% perlite that still leaves 2 gallons of soil. How could 2 gallons of soil not hold 1/2 gal of water? I'll use a bit less water next time, but I don't want to go too much less than a half gallon. I mean I'm just trying to figure this out bc i heard the same thing about run off with organic soil. What do you think of all that?

IDK I used FFOF for my first soil grow ever. I water to runoff every time and don’t seem to have any issues. I’m not getting tons of runoff but it’s coming out of the pots.

well i wont be buying your supply of coco
i have 4 64 cubic feet tote of perlite lol
And already used 4 to fill 130 55 gallon barrels 8 plants per barrel on the full ones and 4 plants in the half barrels
You would hate my farm lol all we use is perlite for out doors and DWC or aero indoors ,lol
