Took clones. Wish me luck.

I am freaking out yall lol. They rooted! One fell over and died somehow. I pulled it out to see it too, rooted a little. I had to kill one anyway to stay in limit. If the MOB looks harsh but with roots, the Blue Venom must be doing great as it looks like from outside.

What do I do!?!?! First successful clones!!! Help me get it into the coco!! lol please. My bio has my set up for my medium info. I opened vents for now until they wilt. When I opened the dome it had this lovely greenhouse smell, like they indeed were happy all this time besides the 90F and above days.

It’s hungry
Light nutrients at first
You need to gradually expose it to light and air
Congrats

I just gave it .4EC diluted feed, one drop of PH down to make it PH6.0 and cracked vents open.

Came back hour later, wilting and that root dried up, which will have it branch out but I closed vent again until they are ready for round two. Just now saw the mfg feed says 1.8ml/gal each nute. I did regular feed and just diluted it to EC (.4) .

Waiting to see roots on other like this one to go from straight distilled PH 5.5 to cutting feed. Will keep messing with vents to acclimate slowly.

Then start pointing light directly eventually and then into the veg tent. This sound ok? Thanks for helping me this far in! It is day 15.

The stem I plucked out had a couple small roots 1” long. It was a goner anyway I would say, could of recut but it is short.

It would have been fine if you had just waited
You seem a bit overanxious

Waited to do what? I only gave it a squirt. I opened dome to discard the goner as it would of flared up with mold. Was about to plant seeds thinking they would not root. Wanted to see if others had progress since dome was opened anyway for the 2nd time this time being 9 days straight.

May delay progress by a day, but thought by day 21 it should be i teresting especially waking up to roots today and seeing the roots in the flipped over cutting that was tossed out.

Every time you fooled with them it delayed rooting and you plucked a rooted one?
The one lying on seed got air to root zone as opposed to sitting in water like you started
Next time just soak the pellets and shake off before putting cut in
It’s not that complicated
I guess I don’t understand your whole mold tendencies thing
But if your happy so be it

If you look at the photo it may or may not show but the stem shriveled up to where it was just rotten overnight and will not bounce back, like a seedling that stretched too much and fell over too hard type thing.

Opened it twice, that is not too bad. Remember, my last attempt did not go half as well as this. Do you let your clones grow fuzz? Maybe I can try understanding why people say not to bother with it. Have they had fuzz grow excessively? Still succeeded? Never had fuzz but knows not to worry still? I do not get it. All I see in posts, is they just do not get mold in the first place. Or to discard asap. But leave it in there for another whopping 10 days? idk.

The clone I plucked was F#cked.

Not sure what you mean there?

you mean when I brought up CO2 levels in this saturated puck?

Like I said as long as you are happy
Was trying to understand what you said there. The MOB are drooping hard, I should of left it be probably. I saw roots and thought to act quick. Tomorrow is another day. Also trying to understand why to let mold be. Leaving it be no matter what for another week. If I see more roots pop out from others, I will try peeping the vents open a bit for a sec until wilting reappears.

Idk if it may help, but next time you give it a go in that dome, use a couple of starter trays to set the pucks off the bottom of your tray. Put some water in the tray. It will slowly get that rh up once you close it all up. They all ya gotta do is crack it open to put more water. If the space gets heated to 95F put a small fan near the space facing away to get it down a little.

I’d also suggest taking a few cuts, and placing them in a cup of water. Leave those on the floor of your tent if the lighting stays at 18/6. If the dome fails.. just check on the cups after 3-4 days andtop it off. That should take you out to 10-14 days til you get roots. These are 2 cuts taken to sex out A plant. It’s been 16 days since I snipped them. They are showing signs of sex already. These are going to hit the dirt soon. But I bet I can go in the cup for another couple weeks by just changing the water once a week. I’ve done it. image.jpg

Hello,

I was going to try that next time (would need to clone every 2 months) I like that you can see what is going on instead of chasing my tail for 15 days lol. Although now that I saw some success I would be even more patient next time I do what I just did.

Keeping this thread (like all) as notes to try everything people suggest when I am able to. Just getting a basic successful routine going for now at least.

The bucket should always be opague, 24 hrs lighting, LED or flourescent. You wont get many roots with lights hitting the stems.20220711_222352.jpg

It is doing the same thing as the one that died yesterday, stem falling over and shriveling to nothing.

Mold seems to be present shortly before this happens. Could be it just could not support itself. Keep dome closed or stick a stake to hold up? I say let it die.

Next time Will want to use something else for media. Rapid root or aerocloner for faster results. No money though. Just got my flower space. Need other things.

Blue Venom keeps growing and staying green, almost sure it will pull through If I leave them alone for the rest of the time.

Doing the same thing this clone did here below

I think having tiny stems and if it slouches, the tention kills the stem, am I right? Thicker stems a better chance next time? I read thick stems are woody and take longer to root. Hell, look at what my next back of clones will look like.

Ready to keep dedicating to succeed in cloning! Should have at least 15 cuttings I can take any time now that are above 6” with good leaf matter. Should try the cup of water method in this tent since it is 18/6 and doesn’t ask for much.

Not as excited as yesterday lol. Some just will not stay straight. Will start new thread for next attempt after this, each method with their own thread. Will emd the thread with final results, even if they all die just so you all can see.

Getting multiple domes and heat pads for different location/ambient settings, mini tent, aerocloner (for faster more promising results), humidity and air temp control all the way down to just a cup of coco or water set aside. I will not give up, I was close this time! Even if it doesn’t pull through.

I intend to clone A LOT. Every 30-45 days.

This is the one that had a big root pop out. Surely was going to die. Put a stake in it and layed it as secure as I could to stand straight. Did not want it to die. No matter what now, I am keeping done closed. Will ignore mold. I propped up the longest standing cutting, it was rough the way it stood like in photo above.

Peat pellets aren't optimal for newbies to learn cloning-they just stay soaked for too long. Give yourself a break and buy some root riot cubes, and then practice until you learn the skill. They are still made of peat, but they are made to maintain a high level of oxygen and new growers are less likely to smother their clones with them. You can squeeze the water out like a sponge and maintain the perfect environment for roots to form. Don't wait to clone again until you actually need clones-once you have a plant going, take cuttings of it until you get the details down and you are confident in your skills. That way if you ever come across a legendary cut, you KNOW you'll be able to save it. The fastest I've ever seen roots burst out of a cube is 48 hours, typically I start seeing roots in 4-7 days with 7 being pretty average. The longer it takes, the worse your clones will look, but as long as you get roots, an ugly clone will become a beautiful plant in a couple of weeks.
