Question on first smoke of cured harvest

This has never happened to be but I think many might know and could help me figure out why this happened.

Outdoor green house weed grow, fox farm soil and some kind of all in one nute mix. Ran hot as hell in the greenhouse, 3x2x6. High humidity. Harvested like 12 weeks into flower? started flower maybe in September, harvested December 15th.

We did not flush, but thought it was due to this until I learned about runoff and flushing being something to ignore.

I cured it for 21 days maybe a little more at the time this happened, but I packed it into a steamroller and took a large rip, mind you I have done this countless times, my airways closed up for a split second and then opened back up and was like what in the world did we do wrong…..

Anyone? ….. Harvesting soon and am not anticipating this with all the effort put in but damn. 00Cheese from Attitude seeds.

I did not get to smoke more and did not want too. But it was harsh and did not burn right. Cured in mason jars.

Don’t judge lol, first run with friends not putting much into this at the time. Only 3 hours of direct sunlight a day, bad spot. That was my guess for wonky yield, no plant training, small pots and etc.

Would of it smoked better if cured longer or in a better product meant for curing? Harsh smoke.

Describe the method you used to dry it, temps/rh etc?
Low temps 55-68F, low RH 35-50% max (basement) and mason jars, burped a couple times then left alone for rest of time. Hung to dry in a box in garage for a week then in jars for two, maybe three weeks at that time I smoked it. I added photos. Flushing might be a myth but what about excessive salts from not checking EC at all?

Those were harvested much too soon. Also, it helps a lot if you can maintain a stable RH-I shoot for 55%, but others here go even higher (I don't like to tempt botrytis.) If you hang dry a plant whole, it will also slow down the dry. Next time I'd shoot for drying for at least 10 days, that's the minimum I always go for-the plants turn out good if you stretch out the dry that much.

That wasn't even close to harvesting. That's the problem.

This ^

If it is not dried fully you risk mold or other pathogens. Possibly your issue.

You also may have a slight case of asthma, do you ever have a reaction to being in the room or being around people smoking?
I out grew it and smoke weed and cigs like crazy and never had issues since a young age but could come back if I do not quit the cigs but other concerns are greater than that.

This was not my grow. In fact we spent most of the time arguing lol. Still do even though we did not continue to grow together nor do they still. It was their grow and they did not want to put any money or effort. Wish I had an account then, y’all totally would of put us on.

Not to sound negative, but in all fairness I did put all the money and effort into this, still am, and must say it takes a hard crack at this to go from hobby grow to self sustainable, and then some, of a grower.

This thread I guess turned out to be a harvesting question, great to know now what it all takes then at that time even though I would of posted anyway asking suggestions.

btw, started flowering and getting resin on my fingers, this is going to be a goooood smoke lol.

I hear you fully. Cut down the cigs a bit it will help with all the health issues.

Most here do their own thing, a few are teams. It is hard to work with others on something as personal as your smoke imo. It's really hard to get equal commitments too, money or effort.

My view of farming is harnessing nature and making small adjustments to a well built system you put together based upon your budget and situation. You want it more than your friends the obvious solution is go solo! Or take control and have them help.

The plant you have growing now is not anywhere close to harvesting either. You've got at least a month more on it.
This was a 21g dry weight harvest, which evidently may of not even been finished drying to weigh lighter. They were dark. 1500w space heater running 10 hours a night? or leave it at 30F weather? lol I just responded to OP explaining my partner and owner of this was not into this, luckily they threw in the towel before this could cost more than 60$ just in heat.

We are real good friends but this was just one of those things that did not work out. I am serious about this though! They were not trying to split 50/50 either so. I just did it for the experience.

It would've been worth the money to grow the plants until they were fully ripe and smokable vs. harvesting early and ending up with something unsmokeable and wasting months of time and money.

If you read my posts, I have a whole setup and just started flowering and replacing the veg room plants that just moved to flower room. I love Marijuana so freaking much I could care less if I failed or did not yield my expectations for a while, I am in this!! lol. I love to just handle them. I know enough know to be satisfied and keep going. Great plant of nature.

I know I will get something lovely this first solo run and many more to come. Stood in the tent with lights on outside of it, pure dark. Plants growing pistols and little starter buds. Leaves growing a fine resin that I just brought up, smells so good, dispensaries be jealous lol. Just realized there is a world of weed out of reach from you, unless you buy that lovely bean lol.
