Yes! I had to elevate it because I’m lazy and didn’t want to set up a pump, but I raised my platforms 18” off the floor and they collect into a small tote that I empty every night.
It’s not bad. If you don’t really work the fittings tight, or if you try to adjust your plants after the plumbing is hooked up, i agree you will have leaks. But for what it is intended to be and at its price point, it’s not too bad.

How do you know when a plant had enough feed? Just do a safe larger amount to be sure they are fully saturated? Will need autofeed soon, damn this is kicking my a$$ lol.
You feed to runoff.
I learned to have a cup or something to catch it to indicate 20% of volume of the feed, and if it needs more than that, it drank heavier for enviormental reasons or needs higher frequency which coco/perlite ratio adjustments and pot size can help with. Because the media is fully wet and not taking in any more water.
You don't have to be so exact in measuring run off. As long as you have a good amount come out you are good. Same thing with an automated system. Set it up to feed to good runoff and you're done. Adjust as needed when the plant gets bigger/flowers/etc.
I use pressure compensating drip emitters (4 emitters per pot), so they all get the same amount of feed. If I didn't use pressure compensating emitters or emitters at all, then it would definately be an issue, and I would want a manifold system. A lot of people worry about clogged emitters, but I've really never had one. I do maintain the emitters regularly between cycles and replace my emitters intermittantly as well however.
You have to time and watch for runoff to get the timings right. I've been using this system long enough that I pretty much have it dialed in. I do have to adjust my timings as the plants progress in size and drink more.
