i checked runoff and ph is good and not fluctuating from initial ph either; 6.4 - 6.5 ph. I water with aerated well water comes out at 155ppm from faucet and I always add silicate with calmag & iron up to 300 ppm. I use 50/50 FFHF and FFOF soil. I water 1 gal slowly in 5 gal air pot and I get at most 25% runoff every 2/3 days of watering. 9A48E35D-1E1D-45FE-8592-9491A2A50AC9.jpeg

I think it’s iron. Look up “Leaf Problems” and compare your to the picture.
Don’t take my word on it, I’m just doing a slitely educated guess from what I’ve seen. But I would check for iron first. Next guess would be zink.

I hope you keep this thread alive. I’ll be following be cause I want to know for sure. Hope you get it fixed.

I would drop the C,MG,FE. Those are hot mixes and shouldn't need any major supplements until well into veg/ early flower.

I’ll do that. It’s my first grow and I just transplanted her in a 10 gal with Strawberry Fields from a 5 gal. She’s 24 in tall and like 28 in canopy diameter so I’ll just ph water for now. I’m gonna go also for a lot less runoff maybe like 10% or less. I just like knowing my runoff ph and ppm so I know how much to feed when I need to and also I don’t wanna have a nutrient lockout from everything I’ve learned and read.

I sure will try lol and funny I was also thinking it could be one of those too as well when looking at the leaf chart but I wasn’t sure. The only thing that throws me off is that from what I’ve heard about my well water is that it has iron in it. When I aerate it after 48 hrs you can see all the iron residue at the bottom and also supplementing the water with calmag & IRON. So I’m my mind I’m thinking am I not giving it enough of it still? Lol

I’ll keep watching here, but it’s starting to get way out of my league.

Looking at the leaves it appears you are doing good with the frequency of watering to keep the leaves healthy, but the problem is not likely a deficiency of anything in the soil. The cause is likely a lockout. Could be a low PH. Might be too much of something. Calium toxicity can cause a lock out of iron. You should have your well water tested, there might already be plenty of calcium in it.

You're using well water with a ppm of 155 and you're adding calmag and iron? Why? You don't need the silica either.

I was following HygroHybrids feeding and watering regimen since he uses the same nutrient lineup. Though he grows in coco. It’s my first grow and it’s really hard trying to understand how all macro, micro, and trace minerals work with each other. So I figured follow someone’s footsteps with similar growing style I’m aiming for until I get a better grasp of it. He tops and supercrops and explains that’s why he waters with silica all the time. However he uses R/O and waters at 300ppm so I figured I’ll just add both to my well until I get to 300 ppm but that’s probably where I was messing it up.

Idk if I misread something in this article but it aims at me having a magnesium deficiency
Bam the only problem is my plants symptoms started with the top leaves and very slowly moving down. The article you linked talks about Mag Def which is mobile and starts at the older leaves…

Silica is an optional supplement, some swear by it, some think it's ok and can't hurt and some think its bunk. I use it as a PH up in my drain to waste grow. I figure if I need to PH up might as well add something that may be beneficial.

The problem you are having is because you're basing a soil grow on an inert hydro grow. Your soil has all it needs. You are then adding water with calcium and then a calcium supplement to your mix. The high levels of calcium are locking out the magnesium.

If you can afford it I would water with RO or distilled water to try and eliminate any more calcium going into the mix.

I’ll just drop the supplements. I have a few gals of distilled I can use in the meantime. I’ll also keep you posted with pics in a few days or so. I want to thank you 7 for taking the time to explain my situation and your explanation sounds very well informed thanks

If you haven't had your water tested you should. That way you know what's in it.

Hey guys I know it’s been almost 2 weeks from the time I posted but just wanted to give you all feedback on how it’s going. So far after removing the supplements and watering the first time with distilled water she is doing great. Seems like it’s just fading away and she’s happy I have pics to show you. Thank you for the help!! As far as the water testing goes. Does anyone know if the Health Metric Drinking Water Test that you can buy online a good test to measure what I have in my well water?

Update and help needed possibly again. My 3 plants have now started week 5 flower it’s day 30 today. The one plant that had a lockout is doing great now. After I transplanted all 3 into strawberry fields soil and they were all fine for this whole month almost. Just my water was given and recharge every 2 weeks with the watering. But now the other 2 plants are yellowing at the upper leaves slowly one a lot more than the other. I got a pic of them and a pic of my grow log for the ph and ppm. I haven’t done anything about it yet because I don’t wanna make it worse.
