This is a BCD I got as a seedling from a friend. I am assuming it must be an autoflower based on how early it's flowering in an area with great sunlight?

No, I don't believe so. I think that it's just an early bloomer.

When was the seedling sprouted? Some strains can put out quite a few pre-flowers before they actually get into the flowering stage. A true auto will go into flowering anywhere from 3 - 6 weeks from sprout.
I have a CBD plant that is on it's fourth generation of being cloned and it looks like it's in flower all the time bud not forming buds. The nodes are stacked right on top of each other when it's larger and makes it a bit of a bitch to clone but once the clones root they grow like normal with some space between nodes so strange as hell.
