Concerned about IR Technology in Australia

I'm about to start a grow in my legally allowed area with a 60cmx60cmx160cm tent and a 100W COB LED.
However I'm very concerned after a mate told me the heat would be detectable by police helicopters.
Is anyone able to help me out here? And if so how can it be prevented?
And how much heat does a 100W COB LED really produce? (Due to my lack of smoke alarm presence)

Notes:
I do have very good ventilation in my attic with an exhaust fan in the middle constantly pumping air through a purifier then into the main AC.
Sorry for all the questions, I just get a bit paranoid at night.

"But not telling anyone about your grow is really important and you already violated that"
Haven't told anyone but another grower I know. And I do Trust him. He has his own stuff going on and I don't see why he would jeopardise his own business by talking to the cops. Not even my parents know I've setup In there own house.

Any device consuming electricity produces 3.41 BTU per watt. A 100w COB produces the same amount of heat as a 100w incandescent bulb, but the COB produces several times more light from that 100w.

You forgot to incl this entire forum. Are you at least behind a VPN when you post in grow forums, if safety is a concern? Also, it is a bad idea to grow at your parents house. It saves then the surprise if things go wrong and cops come knocking.

I snuck into my friends house in Sydney, went into his attic, tapped into both power and water. I have 100 plants in his attic being gravity fed from blumats with over 10,000 watts of high end LEDs.

He doesn't have a clue.

I'm not worried about helicopters. I'm worried about my friend finding my grow and keeping it for himself.

LEDs produces mostly light, and very little detectable IR. Almost 0 in the IR nightvision ranges... if you want to be totally safe you could cover the walls of your growspace with mylar, that will deflect much thermal radiation

Would this create any concerning amount of heat or should I be fine?

Bit hard to ask for help with no context. Yeah I use a VPN for everything. And my parents let me smoke its just a matter of having it done hydro.

Haha Would stapling space blankets the walls work?

I wouldn't be too concerned. On the other hand I have no clue what 100 plants being gravity fed from blumats would look like or even is.

If its legal what does it matter? But if heat is a concern then look it up.. they make flir / thermal absorbing/ reflecting matieral.. back in the day (90's)they made shit to rap reflectors and ventolation hoses..

Google search bro.. No, thermal cameras cannot see through walls, at least not like in the movies. Walls are generally thick enough—and insulated enough—to block any infrared radiation from the other side. If you point a thermal camera at a wall, it will detect heat from the wall , not what's behind it.Oct 4, 2019
