How to bring out the purple?!?

I am growing ILGM godfather OG for the second time. The first time gave me a few purple leaves/buds, but it didn't give me the color I was hoping for. The purple should be part of this strains genetics.

Im now growing a clipping of the same plant and was wondering if there was anything I could do this time to get it to show some more color.

I know that lower night temps should help. Is there anything else that can effect it. I have heard that specific NPK at certain stages can trigger it, Ph can play a part, so can light strength. Is there any truth to those? Any specific figures?

For the record, I am running a scrog with one large plant in a 3x3 tent on DWC. I have my res hooked up to a chiller set to 66deg. I have the mars fc3000 for my light. I also use a kind x40 light bar below the scrog pointing up for some supplemental lighting during flower.

Its all myth mostly. Even grand daddy purps is frequently green.
Colder temps and other stresses can bring on colors, but a genetically purple plant will be purple under the best circumstances.
I have had a purps from bcbuddepot actually turn purple, and a northern lights haze without anything different done on my part.
Have some triple purple rhino from doc d81 in my cabinet that allegedly are more likely purple than green, but most say the green pheno is the dankest.

I had a purple nl#5 from bcbuddepot 15-20 years ago.

One word... Genetics!

Ime purpling doesn't start until later in its life.

How long have you been flowering?
A purple strain will show early if it's going to be purple. Purple weed is overrated. Any strain that is known to be purple a non-purple pheno is almost always going to be better in all aspects. I spent years breeding the purple out of a PCK cross I was working on. I'm glad to have seeds that grow over 90% green.

All the purple plants I've grown start to colour up 55/65 days?
by purpling I'm referring to the leafs not the bud, purple haze is the only purple bud I've smoked and it was very poor.

I'm growing 2 Frostberry plants from Lucky 13 this year outside. One started purple right away, the other white. They have 42 inch high fence around them. The white version is bigger and they both started blooming near the start of July. Cold weather is supposed to help but genetics make more difference.

I know purple doesn't really mean anything. I just like the way it looks and figure if it was in the genetics, I would try to bring it out if that was even possible. I'm more curious than anything.

I still am only in my second week of veg for this plant so it is definitely to soon to tell. I grow one plant in a 3x3 so I might have another 3-4 weeks of veg potentially.

Super interesting how the same strains can look so different. Thanks for the pics and info everyone! I'll keep the temps lower in flower and let nature take it's course.

I've grown plants outside in NY and by October seen them with entirely purple leaves, but the buds had little. I just purchased BC Bud Depot The Purps, who knows when I'll get to it but I'm hoping for that color...

I tend to agree with most people here, purple weed looks cool and is a novelty but green strains always smoke and taste better. Their is the odd good one out there, but alot of really meh purples out there.

Here's a genetically purple 100% sativa Ace seeds Panama red i did outdoors once. Flavorless and weak smoke... looks cool but i wouldn't grow it again

And here's a genetically green LSD cold-induced outdoor purple. Dank and tasty as hell!
