Hermie troubles

I have 40 plants that are 5 weeks into flower most of them have budded nicely but I’ve noticed some of them are starting to grow seeds. And some of them haven’t budded nicely at all so I’ve got rid of them. I had this problem last time I’m not sure why they have hermied I’m guessing heat and genetics. I can’t afford to get rid of the whole room and start again. I need to keep the ones that have budded nicely til the the end. Problem is I added another 40 plants in last week ( so I get a harvest every month) is there anyway to stop them getting pollinated ?

If you are having pollination issues, the last thing you want to do is continue to throw females in there.. Maybe pull all the plants out of that room and spray it down, water will help slow down the pollen.

You can fix heat and other issues within your environment, but not genetics. Are they all the same strain?

Oops, forgot to ask: Feminized or reg.? I had feminized herm on me once, but never reg. [knocks on wood]

Yes.... get rid of the pollen.

Where I am it usually doesn’t get too hot but we’ve had a couple of major heatwaves here. Otherwise I would have ac or something. 2 different strains

Probably will do that then. Do you think spraying the new femailes with water everyday will lessen the chance of them being pollinated?

Water isn't the cure all solution. It is a band-aide fix. You might not want to over spray your plants.. I just clear out the room, clean it up.. hose it down with water "dont flood your house" and then continue to monitor things as you go along.. Keep close eyess for bananas and chop them off if they come up.. Hermies suck, it is unfortunate that it's in their genes but mother nature knows better then me.

From what little I have read, but have experienced directly, feminized has a tendency to herm more than reg. Take that with a grain of salt, however. I am no expert but have had fems herm on me twice, but never had regs. do it.

I buy my seeds in packs of 100 do you think because I’m buying them in bigger quantities there’s more chance of a few being herm? Im debating whether to go to a a bank like Dutch passion and juts do bigger plants but less quantity

when you buy that many at once there's no telling, I got seeds from multi companies ILGM & Rocket Seeds, etc, and so far so good, you can even males from time to time, I came up with this magnificent image of pollinating my White Widows

You want stable genetics, going to an outlet store and buying bulk of whatever is thrown at you may not be the best way for collecting seeds..

There are reputable breeders out there with lines that are stable and worth investing in. Buying bag seeds in bulk is like playing roulette with a fully loaded pistol.
