2x4 grow: greenlit by wife, ready to spend some money!

I've finally obtained tacit approval from the wife for a 2x4 grow in my office, utilizing what used to be a closet; space is a bit over 2 feet deep, seven feet wide, and eight (?) feet high. At some point I would like to add a 2x2 veg tent to that space.

What I know:
- I will be using soil (would like to move to organic at some point);
- End goal is rosin production;
- Will be using LED;
- Local law permits six plants per adult, so I could have up to 12.

What I don't know:

Tent: quite a few opinions out there; I had planned on Gorilla, but looking at A/C Infinity I'm hard-pressed to see the differences - seems as though A/C Infinity may have thicker canvas (2000 vs 1680); for roughly half the price, why not?

Light: ideally I'd like to purchase a light made in the USA; I was looking at Timber, but recent changes to their site have caused me to look elsewhere; the Grow Light Science ProGrow 320 caught my eye, as did the ChilLED Growcraft X6 Mini DIY kit; any reason not go to this route - and instead look at Spider-Farmer or Mars-Hydro (SP3000)?

Ventilation: currently looking at the A/C Infinity 6" fan/filter/smart controller combo... as with the tent, any reason why not?

Spider-Farmer has a 2x4 kit w/SF2000, fan/filter/etc... bad deal at $530?

I know there's quite a bit more that will be needed, but these seem to be the main items and a good place to start; any/all input is appreciated; thanks!

I grow in a 4x4 and all l have is a light a fan and an exhause. As long as they get fresh air or enriching environment you should be fine.

Hi Orangejesus, cool name, (I have heard the name Cheeto Jesus as well which gave me a chuckle) I just went through some recent purchases. I first bought the AC Infinity 36 x 20 tent. It is a very well made tent. The fabric feels good, the zipper feels solid, the reflective pattern is good, the poles are larger than most tents in it's size range, and the option to mount AC Infinity controllers is kinda cool. You can't go wrong with the AC Infinity tent. I had a couple plants rapidly growing and was worried about size so I added the Spider Farmer 2 x 4 which is oversized. It is actually 55 x 28 x 80 tall. I like the Spider Farmer tent and it is a good value for the price and size. I like the extra space and even 6" taller than the AC Infinity. That being said the AC Infinity seems a bit better in every way. Thicker fabric, stronger poles, better feeling zipper, better reflective pattern (at least to me)

For lights it seems the bar lights are gaining favor over the quantum boards as they get more even coverage. It sounds like you are pretty tuned in on your light options. For a 4 x 2 and in that general price range you might want to also look at the Kind X420 and also the light I just bought as an upgrade the Atreum Hydra X3200. Both these light companies based in US. 5 year warranty on the X3200 and the business is located in Seattle Lots of great choices out there and they just keep refining the technology. Check for discount codes as well for many lights out there.

AC Infinity is a great option for ventilation. Don't forget the carbon scrubber if you need to control odor.

You've got a 2' by 4' space, so rather than look at one light that will be a bit wonky in a non-square space, look at two slightly less powerful lights that you can hang to have even light across the whole space.

I'd be looking at a couple 200-300w boards. Lots of them out there.

My space is about 2.6' by 5' and have 3 lights across the whole thing. Also, it means you can start your seedlings under one light and as they get bigger, turn on your other light(s) saving you a bit of money on electricity and helping to keep the temps under control.

I looked at the Hydra X3200 after seeing you mention it in another post, but looks like it's currently sold out.

Would love to see this grow at %100 power. My buds are dense as f. You must pull some really heavy weight. Either of these above me! I've got 3 more square ft and 15 less watts. But know a guy using 2 mars 650 w bars in 4x4 so up around 70w per sq ft. Not sure how successful he's been. Your playing with power! Would love to see your grows.

All I can say is generally you get what you pay for. Timber lights are top notch and their customer service is fantastic. Don't let a webpage down for maintenance dissuade you. Same goes for Gorilla tents over AC Infinity. It's like comparing apples and orangutans. Best of luck in your new endeavor.

Im doing same thing but buying mine in sections. I just set up my 2x4 MarsHydro and very pleased And impressed.

I'm at best a mediocre grower, but still doing pretty good. I generally raise/lower the lights to maintain recommended DLI, and only dim when I'm in the seedling stage. Lately I've only been doing two plants at a time since I really don't need quantity. The stuff I've given to friends has gotten really nice positive reviews of quality/taste/flavor/effect though.

The AC 6" and Controller 69 are good, both bluetooth and wi-fi options. Mars etc. are cheaper but I like the Atrium. And an American company that lists it's address and phone number.

I'll have to reach out to Timber again; they're close enough I can pick it rather than worry about shipping.
