Ive heard of a.c. finity tents being sent out with light leaks. My MarsHydro is 100%

I own three ACI tents. My 2x4 is the only one with a slight light leak at the zipper. Absolutely nothing to worry about. My other 2 tents, including a 4x4 are near perfect. Love them.
All three tents have their own ACI 6” fans paired with their controller 69 Wi-Fi. Absolutely love them.
Their stuff may not be professional growing top tier shit, but it’s more than good enough for a home grower. In my opinion, but you know what they say about opinions….

Yeah I initially was gonna do everything but light ACI then as I was getting ready to purchase, someone on here got two tents back to back that were defected. I was taken back by it. What a coincidence really back to back. So thats why i went Marshydro for tent and also light. 100& air induction will be A.C. Infinity

Yeah I’ve seen that thread. Not sure if it’s bad luck or what. I just know my three are constructed fine.
I had a Mars Hydro tent before getting the ACI tents. I had zero issues with it. Then I got the ACI fan. Which then I got the ACI tent so I could then cleanly mount their controller to. Was originally more aesthetics for me

For tents, especially in a specific footprint, I'd look at all the options for the size needed, and really it seems like 90% are of the same quality/tier.
I like the AC-Infinity fans and controllers too. If it were 'right now' I'd get the Controller 69 & a 6" to start. In fact, I'll be moving to a 69 when I start my next grow anyway (I have a T6 & S6 for in/out).

I just upgraded all of mine to the new 69 with Wi-Fi. It’s nice to be able to see and control everything while I’m not at home. Without having to cobble something together. It just works right out of the box lol
Do you have enough room for a 4x4? The cost on the 2x4 vs 4x4 tents and lights for those spaces is pretty minimal but you can grow twice as many plants! I think the 4x4 ac infinity tent is like 20 bucks more than the 2x4...
Not sure how much you smoke, I have a 4x4 and I think it's just the right size to get me from harvest to harvest. I don't think I could produce enough from a 2x4 to hold me over the 4 months or so to get another crop.

I initially planned on a 4x4 with a 2x4 veg tent, but the planned space was not ideal. For this set-up I'm considering a 2x2 veg tent in order to maximize production. If I find I enjoy this as much as I anticipate, I may construct a dedicated room in the garage.
I have looked at the start-up cost difference between 4x4 and 2x4 and you are correct - not much difference.
Hell yeah man. I'm sure you will enjoy it as much as you think and then some. Growing your own fire is where it's at. Congratulations!

Yeah, that's the end goal for me. If I notice something's not doing what I think it should when I'm at work or away I can make adjustments. The other thing is that it will cut down on the junk hanging in the tent. I've got a WiFi therm/hygro in there to keep an eye sort of globally when I'm not in BT range, then I've got the AC-Infinity sensor for the Controller 67, and sensors for the Inkbird temp & humidity controllers. At least the Inkbird humidity controller has WiFi connectivity too.
I'm basically collecting the whole set of controllers...I have the basic one-button one, the original digital controller, the 67 and then I'll also have the 69.

any reason not to go the DIY route on a light? saw a short clip of HLG's production floor and figured if the folks I'm watching can do the assembly, so can I.

DIY is great. Only downside is the lack of warranty unless if your sourcing your components from places like hlg. That being said, I tend to fix things myself so I don’t care much about warranties if the price is right.
Since you are interested in the DIY route; why not just throw some panda film or white paint in the closet. Could be done for similar price while utilizing your space.

The space used to be a closet, but the sliding doors were removed by the previous owners; now it's just a 2.5x7x8 space.
The original plan was to utilize a walk-in closet (6x10x
similar to how you suggested, but the wife nixed that idea; after almost 30 years you know how to pick/choose battles, so I'll consider myself lucky to have ~15 ft2 to play with. Not to worry - even if I buy everything assembled, I'll still probably end up modifying things a la Tim Allen on 'Tool Time' as most things can be improved on.

Just make sure you take into account how your ducting will fit and the extra space internally and externally.
How are you going to get that warm air out to where you want?
Ducted outside, recycled within the room?

any guidelines for how much space to allow? I inquired on another thread what the actual footprint might be, but perhaps I didn't phrase it correctly...
as to your question, probably recycle within the room; this house is either freezing in the winter - to where extra heat would be welcome - or has all the windows/doors open - with various fans going - in the summer.
Nothing wrong with DIY, many of us built our own. I did cobs, then strips. There were lots of Bridgelux EB and Samsung F-Series strip builds, then Samsung strips with LM301B etc. There used to tons of DIY here, then people started buying cheap China lights about 1-2 years ago.
