They get crazy tech wise and money wise. My buddy had one that looked like an AR-15 with reversed limbs that shot some crazy feet per second speeds. It looked like something out of an alien ship lol. Wicked Ridge is a good company, I've been shooting them for 10 years now and only had to replace the limbs once from stress from shooting so much.

We got down to the upper 50's last night. The wife wanted me to light a damn fire. Not in August I'm not. It's been a heck of a change from the heat wave we'd been having. Hope you guys get a break from the craziness you've been having all summer.

Yeah... pass. I don't stoke up the fireplace till it hits mid 30's or so. Gotta save that firewood for an emergency. It's been about 11 years ago, but we had an ice storm that came through, and the place was without power for 9 days. Thankfully, I was going through a divorce at the time, and I didn't have to deal with it because I was staying up in the city, but my ex was texting me saying "Im freezing to dead!"... I was like "BUILD A FUCKING FIRE!!"

The first year I was stationed at Ft Hood in Texas we had 112 days straight of over 100 degrees and no rain. I was from DC and thought I was going to freaking melt. There were parts of the Apache Longbow helicopter that you just couldn't touch if it had been sitting outside in the damn sun without gloves and not get instant burns. You learned really quickly as a crew chief which ones those were :bigjoint:. Then we went to Death Valley in CA for three months to play in the sand. I'm still not a fan of the heat from those days. When I got out, I knew I was moving back East to the mountains. I was done with tornado's and crazy thunderstorms and 115 degree summers. It was hot here this summer, but not Texas hot. I feel for you guys that deal with it. I really do.

I was stationed in de Rio Texas laughlin AFB bregstrom AFB austin tx..1972.. me and my twin brother joined 2 wks out of high school.. 6/8/1972 USAF. Our next door niehboor and good friend . Sgt john r Stephens was at ft hood and was he was just back from the WAR/NAM when this photo was taken.. He did 3 tours in county. Us ARMY..and retired USN.. lost my twin 49 yrs.ptsd.#22. And cancer took john..john nieways..thank you for your service..they had falstaff and pearl beer in the barracks at ft hood..

My wife's father was career Air Force. He was stationed up in Ft Worth towards the end of his career so that's where my wife spent a lot of time. Funny you mentioned Del Rio, my motorcycle club I was with then had a Del Rio chapter and I met those guys in Oklahoma at our annual mandatory run. I rode all the way back to Ft Hood from Oklahoma with their chapter as I was the only guy from mine to go. I meant to go down and visit them but Army life and time off never seemed to mesh. Especially after 9/11, we were locked down tight for awhile after that. Thanks for your guy's service and glad to hear you're getting a bit of a break with the heat.

Man that is a sweet bike. I had a......gasp Yamaha V Star 1100 cruiser. The Harley prices were out of sight and I was riding it as a daily driver. It was my only ride. It's where I learned how a june bug feels at 80 mph to the face. Those things are brutal. Thought I'd been hit by a rock there was so much blood all over my face. Luckily it was the bugs, but nasty.
