do the break testSo I let my stuff dry out an extra day.. and its dry as hell.. feels weightles. Perhaps the extra day was too much. Do the boveda humidity packs add some weight and life back to the buds. . Ive got some on the way ans hope they will help
In a pinch you can toss a chunk of your stalk in the jar for a few hrs. Cut a couple half inch pieces should do the trick. So I let my stuff dry out an extra day.. and its dry as hell.. feels weightles. Perhaps the extra day was too much. Hanging a whole plant isn't lazy! Sometimes its necessary to slow down the drying process. I use different methods, all stain and season dependent. You're missing the point, idiot. They're NOT that dry when I jar them. I have to wear surgical gloves and even then the shit sticks to me like glue. I don't have to leave them out for 8 days to jar them. If you're doing that, then you have an issue with it either being way too cold (The OP's problem) way too humid, or you left the plant in one piece like a lazy ass and the stalks water is taking forever to evaporate and all you're doing is increasing the chance that mold can set in.
You can if you dry at over 10% too little RH. 55-62 my friend, for drying. You can also dry too fast with too much airflow. You lose tons of terpenoids and most namely thiols and esters when you dry at TOO LOW of an rh just like you do. 45 is scientifically too low to preserve everything you want to preserve. Pal. Terps and other compounds that give you flavor and effects are highly volatile. Why do ALL good flower producers dry at 55 or over? No one wants your overdried tasteless herb. Pal. That’s just bad technique and worse advise telling others to dry their plants in the Sahara desert. Who cares about good moisture content right, def doesn’t contribute to bud qualityNo I'm not. Everybody I know does the same exact thing. You can't "dry too fast" in 4 days at room temperature and 45% humidity pal.
Now, I've seen people on this forum dry in an oven in a couple hours and claim that it's perfect...which I think is bullshit...but if you think too fast is 4 days at room temperature, then...well...good luck with whatever bullshit you're doing.
It sounds like you plan on drying in your tent if I'm reading this correct. Please correct that if I'm wrong.Hey long time lurker first time asking. I live in high plains desert with house getting up to 87°f and humidity below 20%. I'm harvesting tomorrow and have other plants in tent with few more weeks needed. So I can get the humidity in our plant room(all plants not just my tent) up to about 50% rh but temps still mid to high 80s f. I haven't watered in 4 days I was thinking cut long branches hang upside down with fan leaves on after a day remove fan leaves let dry for another day or so then put into rolled up paper bags for 1-4 days depending then trim up and jar. Anyone see any major problems with my plan of attack oh ya first harvest
No I didn't make that clear I can't use my tent because of other plants that still have grow timeIt sounds like you plan on drying in your tent if I'm reading this correct. Please correct that if I'm wrong.
If I'm right it's a bad idea as you want to dry these in complete darkness.
You'll manage with those temps and humidity if you hang the plant whole. Just have to keep a sharp eye on them. Probably put it in paper bags a couple days earlier than you usually would. I think the paper bags are a good idea.No I didn't make that clear I can't use my tent because of other plants that still have grow time
You'll be alright. Thanks all I don't have what I'd normally do since this is my first grow/harvest. I'll definitely have to keep an eye on them I don't want to screw it up in the bottom of the ninth.lol
harvesting tomorrow
Well spotted lol! Agreed. Two more weeks
That should not be harvested yet. Thanks all I don't have what I'd normally do since this is my first grow/harvest. I'll definitely have to keep an eye on them I don't want to screw it up in the bottom of the ninth.lol
You just joined this forum yesterday, how were you told 2 more weeks 3 weeks ago? Obviously it was someone misinformed. At 10 weeks which don't mean much but idk. I was told 2 weeks 3 weeks ago now milky and amber trichromes. I'm not being argumentive just want to know so I know. You know? Lol
