As he awaits sentencing in one case, Bannon is indicted in another; Donald Trump's nuclear meltdown

32,466 views Sep 7, 2022 The Washington Post broke stories today about two repeat offenders: Stephen Bannon and Donald Trump.

Bannon is scheduled to be sentenced for his two criminal convictions for contempt of Congress, for which he is facing up to two years in prison. And now we learn that New York prosecutors have indicted Bannon for financial fraud for his bogus "We Build the Wall" foundation, a foundation that Bannon used to steal money from Trump supporters.

Recall that federal prosecutors indicted Bannon for federal fraud charges for the same fraudulent conduct that violated federal law. Once indicted, Trump pardoned Bannon . . .for stealing . . . from his (Trump's) supporters. You can't make this up.

Given that the Supreme Court has said that a pardon carries with it an imputation of guilt, and accepting a pardon is tantamount to a confession of guilt, this raises interesting evidential opportunities for the New York prosecutors: will they try to use Bannon's acceptance of a pardon against him in his state prosecution?

The Washington Post broke a second story about Donald Trump unlawfully concealing at Mar-a-Lago documents about "a foreign nation's nuclear capabilities." As if there wasn't already reasons enough to indict Trump for his crimes . . .

what is it Beau says? republicans can't win primaries without trump, and they can't win generals with him...
this is such a golden opportunity to deal a fatal blow to the republican fascist christian nationalist scum...i hope it isn't squandered.
keep the midterms about trump...and about job creation, about low unemployment, about plans to fight crime, plans to fix specific parts of the infrastructure that are pertinent to your audience...let trump keep being trump, while you keep hammering home all the things republicans don't want to talk about, the health care worker shortage, the teacher shortage, low unemployment, falling inflation, falling gas prices. ABORTION RIGHTS, LGBTQ RIGHTS...don't even bring up that trump is a traitor who is selling top secret documents to foreign interests...the 1/6 committee will be there doing that for you...don't bring up any of his legal troubles, let Bannon and all the rest who are indicted and waiting trial do that for you.
stay on message, stay on the high ground, let your opponents fuck themselves...

The bigger story here is fascists for Jesus.
And not real Jesus, but the dishonest patchwork golem the toxics use to quell all counterargument.

If they gain power, expect to see trials for felony masturbation. They’re already playing with the idea.

Steve's two co criminals in the federal case he was pardoned for have plead guilty and will probably testify against him at his trial, plus all the federal evidence against them applies to Steve too. Steve is fucked! They say state time is a lot harder than federal time and Steve will do a lot of state time over this shit.

Let's talk about Bannon, New York, and developments....

“They dress like us and they talk like us, but they don’t think and act like us,” he told a podcaster recently. “And they definitely do not want what it is that we want.”

On this, I can agree with Flynn.

He's collaborating with Proud Boys, probably others. They have their right wing Christian Cult Warrior. He knows people within our national security system. Scary thought.

I think a strong case can be made that the Federalist Society is in the same category as a terrorist organization. It may be necessary for the executive branch to issue an order designating them as such. Then disqualifying every appellate judge who has their endorsement.

This is a clear, present and embedded danger to the continued function of the Republic.

I quote Tom Clancy, whose novels drip libertarian sentiment but who said one very correct thing:
“the Constitution is not a suicide pact.”

We need extraordinary measures in order to address established corruption that has subsumed our government branch tasked with identifying and remedying corruption.

Not long after the pro-gun rally in Salem, Portland police officer Joseph Webber appears to have joined the Oath Keepers militia, an anti-government, anti-immigrant extremist group that was thrust into the national security spotlight for its role in the Jan. 6 U.S. Capitol insurrection.

According to data leaked earlier this month and reviewed by OPB, Webber — who is still a Portland police officer — is among more than two dozen current and former police officers, sheriff’s deputies, corrections officers, and members of the military in Oregon who appear to have joined the Oath Keepers militia since the group was founded in 2009. OPB compared data in the Oath Keepers leak against public records, social media and state law enforcement certification information to verify the information.

Reached by phone on the same number appearing in the leaked database, Webber denied joining the group before hanging up. He didn’t respond to follow-up text messages.

Portland Police Chief Chuck Lovell said he expects officers to follow the bureau’s conduct and professionalism policies whether on or off duty. Potentially applicable policies include a prohibition against associations with people advocating criminal behavior or actions which might discredit the bureau or city.

Lovell told OPB this case has been referred to internal affairs for investigation.

Fascist police are WHY the Rose City Antifa was formed. They've pretty much been the only voice against Portland's police violence upon minorites and protests against the status quo. Webber seemed to think he'd never be caught out because he's never seen a a finger lifted against fascism in Portland's police bureau

The thing I dislike about podcasts, punditism etc is that 'guests' are making a point when the podcast host/guests talks over or interrupts the person that has the floor. You don't get to hear the point that's being made; or thinking they know what's being said, finishes that persons thought or sentence.

Please stop; it's annoying when I have to say STFU!
