I use Spinosad as long as I'm not in flower, otherwise I'll fog them with Lost Coast Plant Therapy spray.
One application of spinosad solution 100% knocks them out even at recommended normal strength within 48 hours.. No repeat application necessary. Understand though more research is needed but Spinosad is just a bacterium that was found in rum barrels. Not known how safe it really is... One reason I don't spray it on buds.
Spray bottoms of leaves before tops, do not skip a leaf, if you have too much area to spray then you need to look into a fogger to get more thorough coverage.
Look into natural Preventatives, one example that has worked for me really well and is natural is this in a bi-weekly (2 weeks) tea brew.
I use all 3 of these in my tea recipe, I add everything into 1 bucket and brew for 24 hours. I haven't seen a thrip or bug in general other than spiders in months.. Thrips are bad where I live in MI they will find their way into even sealed grows.. They're basically a flying insect small enough to get through common household screens etc..
