Smashed plants

The straps that came with my tent were absolute garbage. They were so bad actually that they wouldn't even grip on themselves. I am kinda glad that was the case because I didn't even try to use them. I ordered a 6 or 8 pack of ratchet lifts from vivosun and have had no issues at all.

Hopefully you can salvage your plants and don't lose too much.

Good call on your part. The plastic buckle is what broke on these.

Probably gonna move the filter out of the tent for this one but ratchet straps are in the future for other tents.

Hope you can save as much as possible, that sucks for sure. I've had one fail on me before but I had 550 Paracord tied to it as a safety line and it was hanging inches above my plants when I opened up the tent. I tie everything up with that stuff as a backup in case of a ratchet strap failure or I drop it while adjusting something.
Not a bad idea. Definitely going to keep that in mind when I set up the next grow.

I'm clumsy and drop and or knock stuff over a lot. I learned the hard way to tie stuff off working in elevator shafts and at heights. Safety wire or picture wire works well too, I just have tons of Paracord so I use that.

Should have e used a safety but was being complacent
Nah, it's just not something you think of normally until you have an accident. Hopefully some painter's tape and supports will save most of the branches that got broken. I don't use a filter anymore so I just have the light to worry about but it's 45"x45" in a 4x4 tent so if it fell everything is getting mashed. It's good you posted about it, I bet a lot of people will be checking their supports out after reading this thread and you probably will save someone else the problem. Too often we all just want to post our best pics of frosty buds, threads like this do a lot of good.
