curing make better effect?

Curing make the buds smoke smoother thats i agree, but does curing really make buds stoner? and how big difference between curing and not curing?

I think what happens is that the surface area of the bud shrinks, so you're getting a more "potent" hit but I could be completely up my own ass about that.

If you believe in the entourage effect, where terpenes and cannabinoids interact in such a way as to give a more desired effect ("stronger"), then a proper cure could contribute to a better high, I suppose.

If you don't dry and cure your harvest properly, you could be losing all sorts of volatile terpenes and that may negatively impact the high over time.

A good cure isn't going to make it stronger though. THC and terpenes break down relatively fast. If you dry properly, theoretically the strongest high would come from using the product as soon as it is considered "dried" without and time spent curing.

Thanks for asking this. I've wondered about that myself. My last grow smoked great right after a week of drying... a tad harsh but worked just fine. Curing seems to make the smoke less harsh, smoother, and the smell and taste are better after a few weeks of curing... but that doesn't keep me from smoking the dry uncured buds while I'm waiting!

Slowly degrades to CBN which will make you more sleepy

Roll-up a nice fat cannagar, age it properly for a month or so you'll see how much smoother the smoke can be.
I do agree curing make better taste and smooth,
Debatable. Maybe a little.

Sweet FA in my own experience.
i think if you cure two weeks to 1 month , it make difference then fresh dryed , but 2 months cure compare to 6 months cure maybe less differance

As a general rule sativa stuff like hazes for example does better with a long cure with indica heavy stuff more often than not its best a bit earlier cured for only 4 weeks say also this kinda goes for shelf life too obviously there are exceptions to the rule strain dependent but sativa heavy stuff tends to stay good for longer ime id also say curing makes a difference in the high/stone

It can all be so simple and just work rt for your set up but there are alot of factors.
Plant size, nug density, drying space size, air flow, whole plant vs single stem vs wet trim. Curing it before or after stem snap. Just to name a few. Everyone can do things slightly different and still produce gd product. I say just like when growing pay attention to what u see going on and make logical adjustments. Not to dry not to wet. Smoke test as u go!

I’ve fucked around a bit lately with cold drying and curing and in my experience there are a couple of factors at play.

the most important thing is getting my fresh herbs to dry to the correct water content

next needs to be preservation of all the goodies that it contained when it was cut down, the terps that are present when harvested are in much higher volumes at this point, and the entourage effect will be stronger.

in my experience the colder the better, cold slows down terpene volatilisation
But also the less air movement and turbulence around the buds the better, as this strips away vital terps as well

and because it’s cold then it usually takes quite a long time to dry, like a month!

Im sure people will disagree and that’s fine (I’ve got no way of knowing and can’t get tests in U.K.) but in my personal opinion there is no need to cure it any further after this point. Everything good that could happen seems to have happened and it’s at that magic point where it hasn’t started to get any worse. This goes for it’s terps, it’s flavour, smoothness, perceived strength

I dry my weed slowly to where it can be jarred and sealed without fear of mold. I smoke it as soon as it is dry and ready to jar. It does not get more potent in the jar. Some say it gets more smooth, better taste, etc... I won't dispute that. The reality is that terpenes degrade. So months old weed is going to contain less terpenes. The smoothness people talk about is due to terpene degradation. Fresh terpenes can have a bite to them. I like it while others don't and prefer a mellower smoke after the terpenes have started to degrade.

Curing weed does not increase THC levels and make the weed more potent.

Curing weed increases CBN levels by breaking down THCA through oxidation and converts to cannabidiol which increases the effects of the flower, more sedative.

Totally agree to your post, it does not add THC. Maybe it is more sedative, but I do not really feel that.
'freshly' dried is a bit different in taste, smoke and a bit stronger than after curing in jars, and I like to appreciate the differences strains can offer through all these differents steps. Like one said, similar to making wine or cooking a meal, taste at multiple moments to know when your favorite flavor, effects, smoke are revealed. I mainly prefer after 2/3 weeks of curing when the wet has back a bit and the taste is smoother. Sometimes weed can be really good even just before it is dried :p .
