my only, and i do mean only concern, is that if trans athletes have a physical advantage, then it hardly seems fair for them to compete against biological women. the story Canna posted seems to settle that issue, even though i wouldn't mind seeing some raw numbers to back that up, i tend to trust the aclu if it makes a claim that could put them at legal risk if proven false.I think these questions re trans participation in sports can be open to honest discussion, but only within the confines of those actually involved is it meaningful and productive, that have skin in the game so to speak. It wasn’t a long time ago when girls were not playing in boys hockey leagues, yet now it is common and normalized. Girl hockey players kick ass .
I figure it is also a really good time to talk about making sports operate outside of education.I think these questions re trans participation in sports can be open to honest discussion, but only within the confines of those actually involved is it meaningful and productive, that have skin in the game so to speak. yes...i don't give a fuck if kids can play ANY sport...they should get a break during the day, to exercise or not, up to them, and the rest of the day they should be in a chair listening to someone, or asking questions about what they just listened to...I figure it is also a really good time to talk about making sports operate outside of education.
We spend way too much on them (facilities/insurance/etc) and that money would be better spent on educational Improvements, building improvements, technology, and staffing.

The amount of money that passes through collegiate sports is a disincentive to those eminently reasonable suggestions. $>1 billion annually.yes...i don't give a fuck if kids can play ANY sport...they should get a break during the day, to exercise or not, up to them, and the rest of the day they should be in a chair listening to someone, or asking questions about what they just listened to...
"Ironically, despite the United States having the best-surveyed education system on the globe, U.S students consistently score lower in math and science than students from many other countries. According to a Business Insider report in 2018, the U.S. ranked 38th in math scores and 24th in science. Discussions about why the United States' education rankings have fallen by international standards over the past three decades frequently point out that government spending on education has failed to keep up with inflation."

38th in math scores, and 24th in science. but we need to spend more on hiring armed guards in our schools...
pretty soon, companies will be hiring token Americans..." Yeah, his math skills are shit, but we get a break on our taxes for hiring the handicapped."
i understand that in an academic way...you would have to pay me to attend any kind of sporting event, and pay me well...but your crank is spun by what it is spun by. i wonder how much of that 1.1B gets spent outside of the athletics departments? while America is 38th in math scores and 24th in science scores, world wide?...The amount of money that passes through collegiate sports is a disincentive to those eminently reasonable suggestions. $>1 billion annually.

The means of athletic competition belong to the people!Wait!!!! No more dodge ball? You communists

I would note the common scam that these kind of articles make in using “revenues” when they suit them while not discussing “profits”.The amount of money that passes through collegiate sports is a disincentive to those eminently reasonable suggestions. $>1 billion annually.

No I don’t think that story proves anything really. And I agree with you that it would “seem” that there would be an advantage. But my opinion is just that, an opinion based on observation, nothing else. As for statistics, given the small number of trans participants it should be easy to see if there is an advantage. If the small number of Trans participants are in fact the more successful group consistently then it could be surmised there is an advantage. But I say again, my thoughts do not mean anything in this subject as it does not affect or matter to me. It does matter to the actual participants of the sport though. Trump, MTG and the others should shut the fuck up about it and stop with the vitriol IMO. Their using it to appease the dumb.my only, and i do mean only concern, is that if trans athletes have a physical advantage, then it hardly seems fair for them to compete against biological women. the story Canna posted seems to settle that issue, even though i wouldn't mind seeing some raw numbers to back that up, i tend to trust the aclu if it makes a claim that could put them at legal risk if proven false.
