Why PH in coco is so low

I’ve grown in coco (1st grow. didn’t have a clue wtf I was doing),
super soil,
RDWC (too much maintenance)
and now...I am planning on going back to coco and using an automated top-drip system.

Any suggestions of a coco that’s ready to use straight out of the bag??
Going to be using Jack’s nutrients that I was using for hydro. Want to keep things as simple and efficient as possible

I like the o.p.'s question, and not just "accepting" data but rather questioning it! This is a fantastic discussion IMO.


For me personally, I've only been growing a little over 2 yrs and have always used "cheap" coco + perlite mix, most commonly & currently Tupur Royal Gold, but I've also used Mother Earth and a really weird one called Hydro Krunch or something?. . .. anyways, I have almost always started to get "tiger striped" mag deficient leaves as soon as I drop the cal mag. I use tap water (ppm 75) which I don't waste time aerating anymore, I've used GH Trio, Athena Blended and GH Nova Grow, all of which didn't seem to meet my plants' Ca Mg needs, or at least Mg needs. But adding 3-5ml CaliMagiC to my solutions, it has always helped. I always aim for pH 5.9 but often settle for 6.1 because I kind of eyeball the 1/2ml of down in the dropper.

Try jacks if you haven’t. Super simple to use and not expensive. I was using GH trio when growing hydroponics and thought about switching to canna before I came across Jacks + epsom salt.
