Light height from plant

Hey guys first time grower. I'm 5 weeks into flower and I think my plant has stopped stretching in the last week or 2 my lights are about 10inches from the majority of the plant and abit closer to a few other heads. Should I just leave them or move them away slightly? Using 2 unit farm uf2000 and 1 vipaspectra600 led

Weeks 5-8

5 ramp up this is were yield comes from
Crank lights and lower the best you can

After the 2 weeks in transition the stretch should stop and start to see the Pom poms forum .. with LEDs 18 -24” from top of plant , depend on the strength of the LEDs .. in flower your PAR should not go above 1000 PAR , if higher then that then Co2 is needed … another way is to watch how the plant reacts to the light , watch for light burn ( leaf starts to curl ) lift the light or dim it …

Week 5 is time to rap up the light, you should have coverage by now, so it time to make flower. So you push without damaging. Ultimately I would use a gauge ( spoton) but if not read the plant.

Then after say week 8 you back off a bit to save the terps and such on what you just pushed for heading into the finish.

You should move the lights further away if you have the ability.

Measuring the lux (or PAR if you have the $) will tell you what level of lighting they are getting. Dr. Meter works well and is inexpensive for lux.

But 10" is too close for a new grower. A pro who knows his lights and strains might pull it off and do it well, but not anybody on their first grow.

Dimmer combined with height from canopy is how to handle lighting. If you can get the lights to 18" away and measure about 50k lux, you are doing great for a first grow and run little risk of burn.

If you somehow have vibrant green plants and have the plants growing to the lights now at 10" away then you can probably keep going as is. But that would be unusual.

Ive got colas getting 1100+. No C02. Airflow and temp management and even the strain influence exactly how much they can handle. The light footprint of old blurples arent nearly as spread out as much as quantum boards or strip LEDs, with much lower temps too, all that helps.

Very basically speaking, as long as the top sites aren't showing signs of burn or stress, IMO your light distance is fine.

There are PAR meters available for free on your cellphone, some have been tested by MIGRO who states in a matter of speaking these apps are "good enough", and I still think these free apps more accurate than the naked eye.

I checked the Photone app. to the MQ-500 the local shop rents. It was off by something like 6-7%. thats close enough to grow weed for me.

Have the same issue with the ones almost touching the light, so I keep reaching in a supercropping back down .

I'm guessing that's on an iPhone? The accuracy of phone apps depends on the OS and model of the phone. Photone for android is still in beta and it's crap on many phones. Common problems are hitting a ceiling and maxing out a low number and also locking up. It tops out at something like 400 on my Samsung.

Try PPFD Meter for android. It can pair with this bluetooth lux meter for improved accuracy.

Yes, I run it from a fairly new iPhone. It has worked well without any malfunctions
I would definitely expect to see some variations in readings when something uses different software and build components.
