Feed strength through flower

Hello everyone, I have a question for the community pertaining to flower feed.

Does the EC peak early in flower, during the stretch and bud set, mid to late flower, when the buds are swelling, or late flower when they're putting on weight?

Early flower during stretch and bud set is the highest ec i use 1.8ec, that only last 2-3 weeks then 1.4/1.5ec around 8-9 weeks it starts goings down at 10/11 weeks I'm down to 0.6ec
Damn, ok. That makes sense. I don't think I'll go that high, but I'll consider that order of EC changes next time around. Thanks for the input!

Yeah it does sounds high I'm just getting to grips with it, before led i got by ok with 1.2/1.3ec but I find with 600/700w of led plants can hammer through nutrients.

When the time comes keep an eye on your plants for signs of pale leafs, yellow/limey fresh shoots.

I needed to increase ec by 0.2 for every 20% I turned up the lights.

Yeah. I'm still struggling with the balance of light power, light intensity/height, nutes, and rh.

As you can see, I've bleached my buds, and I have a pretty serious burn/deficiency going on. I'm at a point in the grow where I can't do much but baby them across the finish line and do a better job next round. Had my lights on way to powerful, way to early, and way to long. Didn't expect these girls to stretch so much. First time running Pineapple Fields, and its totally different than the strains I've run prior. They're hungry, but they're also picky. I got a HLG Blackbird, which is slightly less powerful than my current lights, and im going to avoid running 100% light this next go around. I have a problem with stressing the plants in an attempt to get the most out of them, and I end up causing more problems. Doesnt help this is a 12-15 week strain. Hopefully they'll be ready by mid November.

Hey...just seeing your post and wondering if you figured it out yet? I know its late...but I'm running RW and Jacks as well. I have some issues will EC, PH, lock out...etc. I am pretty sure that Jacks being a salt will build up at the bottom of your block as they wont really get flushed through wigh eb n flow type feeding. I am top feeding auto drip and earlier on thought I was too high on the EC...when the reality is that for one I was getting lockout because of salt build up throwing off the PH in the block because I wasnt getting enough run off to push out the salt build up and at the same time correcting the PH. There will be some fluctuation in PH in the block which is normal... maybe flush through from the top by hand from time to time to push out the salts. I showed deficiencies that I thought were a result of too high EC when in reality, it was salt build up and lockout. When you talk to Jacks techline they want full strength used so the proper nute balance is there across the board...the key is daily runoff. See if you can find someone using Jacks and eb n flow!

Weekly flushing for 10 seconds, 15 if their is alot of build up. Ph the water low, 5.4 5.5, as it helps break down salts and reset the medium. I like to put some h2o2 in my flush water, but thats not nessessary.

I won't say I have it figured out, but I will run up to 1 in veg, 1.2 early flower up to 2 in peak flower, then I work back down to around .8 the last few weeks.

I'm running some Pineapple Fields, they run long and they are very hungry plants. Every plant has different needs. I started them my last grow running 50% strength nutes, hence the increase this go around.

The most important thing you can do is flush with PHd water once a week. You can get away with every other week, but I wouldn't advise it. Best of luck!

Piggybacking. Curious if you guys have tried raising the EC during mid flower as a stress inducer( for increased cannabinoid production ?

The window is too small for someone of my experience level. I don't know how to over feed enough to stress a plant without causing lockout, and I have trouble chasing the snowball effect that follows.

not generally...weeks 4-6 I try to steer more vegetative for flower production...So I will raise the temp and RH a bit and lower the EC if needed a bit as the plant takes up more nutes with the higher RH

100% imoe too.
I'm soiless when indoors and have always followed manufacturer's recommendations for EC.
When I've burnt plants in the past, it's been my own doing, not the manufacturer's.
Aeration and drainage is a big, big deal. So easy to underdo.

I've used Advanced, Canna, Professor's, No-name cheap brands, Front-row AG etc. They're all the same.
Though...I will say sweet spot I find is about 1.8 - 2.0 EC. Something in me still says to never go over 2.4 EC either.

Doesn’t VPD make a difference on the amount the plants can take too? I thought I read that if the VPD is high you want to feed more often at a lower EC because of the transpire rate they can’t handle the higher EC but I may have read it wrong. I do that often it seems.
I’m just starting to even look at VPD to optimize my yields but I always stay low EC never higher than 1.2 so far

also some strains can take way more than others but I’ve never really ramped it up during first few weeks of flower so I may have to give it a go and see what it does.

Thats when using things like Chitosan Oligosaccharide or MKP come into play.

I’ve never actually done this, always went the less is more route. However I stumbled on a video where the guy proposes increasing EC for a portion of flower to induce stress to increase cannabinoid production . I googled those and read into it some. Maybe I’ll try it in a test plant or something lol
