Well, yeah, but that's an edible, and i am looking at sublingual application, which hopefully won't
last longer than 3 or 4 hours max. I assume it takes effect more quickly than edible too, from what
i have read. They say sublingually, you'll feel effects with 15 to 30 mins, edible, like 2 hours, and
effects last sublingually like 3 hours, and edibles like you said 5 hours, and the edibles i've done
lasted me like 8 or 12 hours (i probly ate too much). Thanks for the help, don't give up on me, man.

I decarbed using a half pint or pint (whatever size it is) mason jar, inside a boiling bag, in a
large pot of 200 degree water for like 90 minutes. I let it cool, take it outside, remove the bag,
remove the jar, and then go about extraction from there using freezer chilled 190 proof everclear,
shaking vigorously, and then keeping it in the freezer, where it now the remains to this day. My
log shows I did this extraction (my first and only one from decarb to extraction) in February, 2022.
I won't do it at all, if it is going to smell up my house. I can't have my house smell dank, I wish it
did not matter. But in my part of the world, even tho it is legal,people are either theives or they're
cops, and if they smell it, then i have to be concerned. Call me paranoid, i don't care.

I have tried to find ways of decarbing, but I bought the Activation 420 machine thinking it'd work, but
once I got it, I knew it would not, so I never tried it at all. Besides, it got slightly bent in shipment.

Seriously, friends, thank you all so much for helping. Please don't give up on me.

I am trying to
make a sublingual tincture that will work. I am trying to decarb the product without smells if it
will work. I am trying to determine if sublinguals tinctures react in my human body the way it is said that
they do (15 to 30 minutes to get high, 2 to 3 hour length of high). Smoking is immediate high,
lasting 1 to 2 hours; edible is 2 hours to get high, and a 4 to 8 hour length of high. TIncture, seems to
me to be the optimum way to do this, THEORETICALLY, that is. I have no idea, so far. NONE. So far
it has been exasperatingly difficult for me. I'm just not that smart, dammit. :(

I've used mine under the tongue as a sublingual dose and the effects are different. The alcohol burns but is tolerable to me. The effects came in about 20 minutes or so and lasted about 2-3 hours. It was weaker than the edible method as I used less I think. It's a different high but not so noticeable in my opinion than by taking it with the beverages. I'm fully functional with my dosage and stay medicated from the time I get up until I can get some sleep. I never really feel too high like I have on certain THC gummies or brownies. Hope you can figure out a good dosage. I'd say you want RSO cut with MCT oil and just figure out the dosage for sublingual application. RSO takes a good bit of flower to produce a decent amount though so think it through before you start.

Burns eh? Heh. When i first made mine, with the 95% pure Everclear, I put a full dropper under my tongue, and liked to DIE right there. But I toughed it out, swishing it under there for a full minute before swallowing. But i never did get high. Then I just added 1:1 ratio of water to it, making it about 100 proof instead of 190 proof. I mean jeeze, I've drank everclear before many times, but damn, under the tongue, whew.

RSO needs more flower, huh? Okay, well, what i decarbed was only one gram of flower, and added one ounce of everclear, after decarb. It should've worked, in theory. I've got my processes logged somewhere, I'll have to post them when i'm half way able too. I'm not too worried about how much flower to use tho. I buy it at the local store, yanno. I'd love to grow, looking at all the beautiful pix in this board, but PARANOID, besides, no, u can't grow in this state w/o growers license, so that's jail time, right there. And i've been there before behind this shit, so NO thanks. I'm out for now. Thank you, bro. :)

If you remove most of the alcohol, so that there is only enough to keep the oil flowing through a dropper, it will be diluted enough that it is no longer 95.5% ethanol and no longer burns.

just let it evaporate, eh? Problem again there, is the smell, tho i can take it outside and evaporate.
Oh, and do you think my completely odorless decarb process is going to work? Being decarb odorless , learning
how to decarb, and then learning to make an extract are my main concerns or questions. I'll just purchase store-
bought product and decarb and extract as needed until i find some kind of effective pre-manufactured tincture.

TY, and yep, beautiful process. I'd read and even seen utoobs about watching the bubbles. They're filled with CO2, and as they
surface, then burst, and as they finally stop surfacing and bursting you can watch the decarb process as it happens, to when it's finished.
I'm kinda scared of doing it as you say, "in situ" because of the alcohol, plus remember, i gotta have odorless decarb, right? :)

L is quick wash, 1 oz to 2 cups 190 EC. R is warm bath, 130 for 4 hours in Magical Butter Machine(use crockpot/instapot/hot plate NOT GAS STOVE). Both had 30 min decarb at 250f in the aur fryer prior to making. I have a 2 oz silicone box and lid for decarb. Use turkey bag in oven. No smell. L was made Sunday and at top of label. R was made Monday and exactly at 2 cup mark. You can see the R is almost at 1 1/2 cups, so 3 days open air evap with ceiling fan reduced 1/2 cup. No smells, no heat. Not hard. GL.

I checked, kinda serendipitously, and found that RIU is top-rated on several rating sites. I just found RIU accidentally too. I should say, that I have to abstain for the time being, due to an upcoming UA. So I can't really try much until, I guess, next month. I just can't test positive on the UA.

But I do have more questions. Like I have a couple grams of kief that I bought and of course the remains of the 5 eyedropper bottles of store-bought "Tinctures", shatter and some RSO. I had tried mixing some of the syringe of the RSO with everclear and that was a no-high. So, hell, I dunno wtf i'm doin'. I really don't. And yanno, I rolled my first jay back in '68, so you'd think I'd know something by now. But never did a grow or anything like that (NOT that I didn't want to).

I can add more. I even have a list of the products. Maybe this should go in another thread.

Okay, so I'll continue in a reply to my own ... uh, reply, I guess. Oh, also, I have this other store-bought stuff called, "Jelly Breath Nectar Drops Live Resin", it says 100mg THC on it, total weight of the little plastic ampule is 0.10 fl oz. Now I tried half of that one night, and I think it did work. I dunno why I'm actually talkin' about it really. But like the 5 dropper bottles, theyr'e all in oil, none in alcohol, and none worked, even after 4 eyedroppers full. Is there some way I could concentrate those, maybe?

Definitely. I don't get that high in one setting, but 100mg is definitely only 3 to 4 uses for me. I make 12 mg capsules and take 2 to 3 depending on how i feel. Making your own will let you make stronger doses.

If you have access to shatter, or any other extract/concentrate I would just dissolve that in a tiny amount of alcohol and make your own tincture to dose with. There would be no smell just dissolving the product, and if you started with your 81% shatter you would know there is 800ish mg in the total batch. Then just decide how much you actually need to take to get the resulting effects you want.

TY Tcat, that is sound advice. Just confirms what seemed logical to me, but jeeze, i had
no way to know until you guys chipped in to help answer a few questions for me. :leaf:

Then, now here's a new one to ponder: Now my wife has COPD, NOT getting any better either.
We toked our entire lives together, minus the 25 year abstinence we had. But now she coughs
badly when toking. It's why I gotta figure out tinctures for her. So here's the deal: since legal, we'd
buy some buds from the store, i'd roll 'em up, we'd smoke, she'd invariably cough and hell, half the
time so would I. I'd save the roaches up, and then roll them into a joint, we'd smoke those, and they
seem a lot smoother (way less coughing for her and me), not to mention it seemed the high was a
little better. Then, learning about decarbing of late (new term for me until I started looking it up on
interwebs, I have hypothesized that it's decarbing those fresh nugs that is making it smoother plus
lending it a better high. That's just a theory I (we) derived, but who knows. I bet some of you all have
some pretty good ideas on that though. Thanks again, buds. I really appreciate your input. Here's to ya all: :joint:

TY, i had not found the time to read that link until now. Excellent so far. I am a slow reader, but the
forward was by some cat (or is it dog?) named graywolf, ever heard of him? Then processing the RSO 2.0 with
just your kitchen implements, instead of some big time lab, very nice. Then it discusses isopropyl, extraction first
using ethanol after the iso wash, well, hell, i'd read about that process somewhere else, and
thot now that's a good idea. Thing is, i read somewhere else that there's a diff between Euro isopropyl and USA
isopropyl, and the USA stuff, isn't for consumption, whereas the Euro iso is not as toxic as USA iso, or something. Anyhow there's a difference
and so a person could use Euro iso instead and be even cleaner, maybe. The text discusses the different grade, called
"USP-NF or higher grades of Isopropyl" which must be the European grade, i'll bet, that's available here (i'll amazon that).

Then there's this kind of "silting"
process to take away the green muddy aspect of the RSO 1.0 that I'd also read about recently, somewhere,
where you simply wash the product in lime juice and club soda! Seems i just read about that somewhere about
a week or so back. Whether it was the wolf' lair or somewhere else, I dunno. But this seems to be a comprehensive
text on the subject. Wow, man. Outstanding stuff here.

Then filters, yeah, filters. Forget using unbleached coffee filters, or paper lab filters, it says use a damn n95 mask! I
have plenty of those.

But then when it discusses azeotropes and after looking up that word's definition, I kind of felt like "dammit, can't
the producers do this?" Yanno, those guys i'm buying tinctures from, like Kronic Tonic, and that CBD1:1:1, or Fairwinds
brand, should be able to do this. Jeeze. I just don't really ... i never took chemistry ever.

So hell, anyhow, i'm back to finish reading the fabulous article here, and hopefully something might sink in, tho, somehow

verified by my own independent reading of the past, uh...four or more fucking years! I'm not kidding, i have been trying to
learn here, no shit. I learned about the word decarb, oh probly 5 or more years ago. I'd never heard of it before. Turns
out that's what you do whenever you light up a joint. Who the fuck knew? Like i said, i have not smoked cannabis from the
early 90s until 2017, when the wife brought me a few nugs home for Christmas. :) And it's back to the smoke I/we went.
I so want to get her some tincture that will work for her, and not cause her to cough so horribly with every toke, DAMMIT!
Plus i don't want neighbors to smell. Well, the text addresses this in what it calls, "‘No-Skunk-Zone’ compliance". Unbelievable
how this answers almost every damn question i've had for the last...5 years. I have only tried it once, like i've said, and
i did the decarb in a boiling bag on the stove, but this says to do so in the oven, in a bag, in a mason jar. Perfect...
I love how the User Guide lays out the theory and then the practice for each of the eight steps:

1. DECARB. Activate the cannabinoids.
2. WASH. Extract the cannabis oils with Isopropyl.
3. SILTING. First pass to clean up proteins and gums.
4. WINTERIZE. Second pass to clean up plant waxes..
5. DISTILLING. Isolates the oil. First phase isolates the oils and recovers the
Isopropyl. Second phase removes residual traces of Isopropyl.
6. COLLECTING. Plant water solubles are discarded. Oil and water naturally
separate making easy work of collecting oils. Salt is easily purged as well.
7. FILTER. Last chance to remove any visible particulates.
8. REDUCE. The final step to oil using low heat devices.
