Strains for back pain?

Asches

I have had some major issues with my back (arthritis, degeneration in the joints, and nerve damage), and have been looking for options that can help reduce the pain. I've had a few vape carts that worked, but am looking for something to grow myself to help. Not quite sure what strains to look into growing indoors.

Do you know what strains the vape carts were comprised of? If you can find out, maybe it'll lead you to a good choice of strains. I'm interested to see what people haveto say about this or any anti inflammatory strains available. Middle aged guitar hands and all that for me.

I find that very high indicas with a better balance of CBD and THC helps me most when in pain. It just depends weed can't touch very severe pain but for day to day it's ok.

You'll need to experiment a bit to see what works best for your body. It can be hard to find the perfect medicine for you because it might be just be a single genotype in a particular strain that you find helpful. I'd start with the stronger Chem lineage strains, like Chem D or Stardawg, and if you have the space and are good at growing, I would also try several Panama Reds. PR was recommended to me for pain by Snow High due to its unique multitude of cannabinoids. I'll be experimenting more very soon with "church" terpenes for pain-It just seems logical to me that frankincense terps would be anti-inflammatory based on how people use Boswellia supplements. Good luck and let us know if you find something that works for you!

I find this to be true large amounts of cannabinoids not just thc help with pain more. Some kind of balance. I bred through a couple generations kept trying and kept a mother that seems to work for me and clone her. Certain strains or cannabinoid combinations help a lot...some very little.

I find heavy indicas like an afghan or hindu kush seem to do well in that regard. Additionally. The tropicals they have out today are PHENOMINAL for pain (for my body atleast). Neck pain, elbow pain, back pain, rub some on, rub it in really good, 39 min later pain free. Everytime. Worth a shot.

I have very similar problems in my back and have found heavy indica's like kush or Chem strains to be best in general for the severe pain. Like others have said though it seems to be a combination of the THC and other cannabinoids that really makes a great pain relief strain. I've been wanting to try out some balanced CBD/THC strains but haven't found the right one yet to grow. I also find tincture to help more as I can control the dose better and it lasts a little longer than the relief from smoking or vaping. You're going to have to experience a bunch of strains to find the best one for your body chemistry. Just take clones of everything in case you find a winner. Hope you find some relief, nerve pain sucks.

I would check into the 1 to 1 ratio CBD strains.

I have an atonic CBD cross that works pretty good. I made pain creme, and like to bake with it. Making treats seems to work best for my back problems. For some reason I can't stand the terps of that strain though, and don't like smoking it... Not sure if other CBD strains are the same, and have that odor I find to be obnoxious.

Honestly, the absolute best medicine for my (going on close to 20 year) chronic back and neck pain is a topical salve. You could use a mix of thc and cbd as inputs, really you could do it with any cannaninoid that is able to be absorbed through the skin. hash makes a great salve :)

You infuse coconut oil, then add in Arnica oil as well as any essential oils that are anti-inflammatory/ you think smell nice. I use at least ginger amd tumeric oils.

Melt beeswax, add coconut oil from above with shea butter and coco butter.

I find that when I apply it head to toe it instantly silences the nerve signals yelling "pain!" to my brain. Absolute magic

A nice heavy blueberry indica is good for me. Rolex og kush from devil's harvest. I used to get black packistani hash that was speedy but good for pain. I have intractable muscle spasms so I go for more indica usually but there are a lot of sativas that also help. I like some over ripe sativas for sleeping. Grow lots of strains until you find the best meds for you. You can smoke the mistakes.

Totally agree this is the best way to go for muscle pain. I prefer lemon as an essential for scent.
For those looking for pain relief smoking, the strains that work for topicals might not work when smoked.
Do the strains you use for topicals work in some way for pain when smoked? The ones I use for topicals don't have pain relief affects when smoked.

I mean, less so the acute intense side of the pain than topicals but my general pain levels are always lower when my blood-thc levels are high.

I've found Sour Diesel awesome, I got it as a freebie. https://www.wikileaf.com/strain/sour-diesel/

I have 4 herniated discs 2 of them compress the sciatica, and the sour diesel worked almost too good. Due to the sativa traits id be up and doing way too much, not feeling the pain so when it wore off the pain was worse. If you can control yourself and not do too much i found it awesome.
