SIMMS... As the only company making fishing waders in USA and the first company to introduce breathable waders in the early 90s, SIMMS is in a class of it's own when it comes to the production of high-quality, American-made waders. SIMMS has been based out of Bozeman since 1993

Do you own these? How do they fair with rough use? I buy scierra as I’ve found pretty much all breathables need replaced after a few year fishing the rough north east coast, kneeling, sitting, just generally rubbing against rocks kills them off. Vass pvc waders are fantastic but not if you have to walk any great distance or are of the sweaty type lol

Where then South Korea? Vietnam? Taiwan? TBH I can't see Samsung setting up a specific production just for one OEM.
Samsung's headquarters, and R&D are in Korea. They have automated manufacturing in both Korea and China.
From what i remember HLG posting at some point, the 648 boards are assembled and badged samsung by samsung. The other boards are assembled by hlg at their own facility in the US.

Hey bud, I've a G4 wading jacket and the freestone waders, I've not had any trouble with them in 1000s of hours fishing, i liked the fit and finish that much I bought a spare pair.

About a year after buying them i thinned aquasure with toluene and done all the inside seams that was in 2016 I've only had two repairs of my own doing since then.

I've a pair of ocean that I use around the boat, and a pair of neoprene for the winter.

Those are some exotic pieces of kit mate, I’d be terrified in them doing what I do, when I see all the best bass guides in Ireland they’re all thick of simms and they highly reccomend them too. I’m in the market for a new bag and the simms fits the bill.

Maybe as I age I’ll grow less fond of rock hopping and falling down the side of barnacle covered scars and invest in a pair.

beautiful fish btw

Coming back to the topic. Does anyone recommend other Chinese LED brands? Kingbrite seems to be pretty legit! Im tempted to try Sundopt, Vipaspectre, and have had okay success with Meiju, Hortibloom, Sundro. But what about doing a 20-40 light grow? So that needs something very reliable and safe.... are Chinese lights reliable enough for large scale commercial operation? I did find a domestic company that uses good components so I'm tempted to pay a bit extra and play it safe, 3 year warranty. Good support.

Honestly most brands are assembled in China, especially in Shenzhen. The most important is you need to talk to the right supplier. Some Chinese have led stocks at US warehouse, maybe you can test first.
Have you tested any in bulk?

Can you please unpack this more? Are you saying that Sinowell is the holy grail of Chinese light makers?????

I'm saying Hawthorn just announced that they are retiring Luxx after buying it from the Jungle Boys for $200+ million. But the actual lights were made by Sinowell in China. So what is a Western light and what is a Chinese light?

My next question is whether we can or cannot go to Sinowell on Alibaba and find equipment comparable to Luxx quality? Can you shed some light @klx ?

Do they sell western quality lights under different names/prices with same equipment? I asked Sinowell and they said they use SOSEN brand drivers for their LEDs. IDK if that is what Luxx had??
