I know plenty of peeps in the politics section whom I think their thinking is out of whack but when I see them offering advice to folks in the pot sections I'm quite happy to back them up and hand out likes.

When I used to mod/admin at Cannabis Culture we had a free for all section with a warning along the likes of, Stay the fug out if you have thin skin. Violent stuff was off the table but there was plenty of rude going around. The guys fighting in there got along fine in all the other sections. Blow off some steam then go have fun.

Trolls or trollish behaviour was universally despised and could get them banned. A new guy shows up and starts that up wasn't around long. Most of the time everybody just focused on the troll and they would leave on their own.

Most of the nasty fun was in the chat box, aka Short Bus. Could be 30 - 40 people in there every night raising hell. Some of the stuff that was said . . . :)

I get most of my news about world events and all the fun in US politics out of that forum. A little mud-slinging never hurt anybody but the snowflakes. ;)

And nobody had to be there if they didn't like it.

I agree. Someone's political view is irrelevant to me on here. I can still be friends with democrats even if they've lost their minds, :lol:.

there's a difference between us, and between democrats and republicans...
you CAN still be friends with a democrat, even if you don't agree with them...you CANNOT be friends with a republican if you don't agree with them, they won't allow it. if you don't believe what they believe, they will try to dehumanize you, demonize you, ridicule you...they will stab you in the back, lie about it, then stab you in the chest. they ARE actively trying to take away the rights of every woman in the country, every lgbtq person in the country, they showed how much they care about veterans when they high fived after stopping a vote on the pact act...they are truly reprehensible...and i don't want to be friends with any of them.

The flat out lying gets to me. It is so insulting IMO to just expect others to go along with it unquestioningly.

Being someone who's neither a Democrat or a Republican myself, but having known people in both parties throughout decades, I can definitely say that you're wrong. I've lost long time Democrat friends over certain issues that we disagreed on (vaccines specifically), due to the exact conditions which you accuse republicans of: ".. if you don't believe what they believe, they will try to dehumanize you, demonize you, ridicule you...they will stab you in the back, lie about it, then stab you in the chest."

And even after that, they go back home and start to look into that, triggering trolls to have to come back in and reenforce all those lies they believed to resell them their propaganda, and then add in some more noise to trigger fights quicker next time.

so...democrats giving people a hard time because those people refuse to take a simple, free, SAFE, vaccine that would have helped this whole thing be over at least a year ago, and would have saved the lives of thousands of people, is the same thing to you as republicans harassing people for not believing the stupid ass lies their party is trying to push? for not believing that trump magically declassified all the fucking top secret documents he stole and refused to return? the same as the republicans not only refusing to cooperate during the pandemic, but actively telling lies about it, actively THREATENING anyone not agreeing with their lies?
