Just some. Mostly cloudy is your goal. Some plants don't give amber while they're alive. Looks like harvest window can be either now or in a week or two... Need to see the trichomes to know for sureChecked it under lights i think easily another week. Maybe more.
Checked thrich too... No amber ones at all.
Do some have to be amber?
None of them are amber. They are mostly cloudy and some are clear. My loupe is not the best... Cant take picture of itJust some. Mostly cloudy is your goal. If you don't see any clear ones anywhere, it's a good time to cut chop. It's all in the dry and cure is what preserves any smell you observe right now.None of them are amber. They are mostly cloudy and some are clear. My loupe is not the best... Cant take picture of it
Option C is my vote for many reasonsIt's been two weeks since I posted this thread. The buds look pretty much the same, most hairs are brown few here and there that are white.
Trichs on the top largest buds are mostly milky with few amber ones here and there. I'm using tiny loupe so can't really take a picture of it unless i cut the bud and put it under the USB magnifier I have.
Trichs on the smaller buds are mostly milky with few clear ones, but very rare to see amber.
It's been 11 weeks since flip (so 9 in flower really).
I'm going on a trip on Friday morning, back on Sunday evening. I was thinking of either:
a) Cutting it in about 12 hours, evening, and setting up my drying environment (humidifier + aircon + humidifier controller) all thursday until i hit the sweet spot
b) Cutting it tomorrow, and risking not setting up my drying environment correctly since I will have less time playing with it
and ...the option that appeals to me the most is:
c) Turning the lights off for 2.5 days on Friday morning, and harvesting on Sunday evening after I'm back after almost 3 days of complete darkness
I'm not looking into increasing THC, or smell or whatever, it's just that the timing sucks me being away for 2.5 days during the last stages of my plants life.
Thanks
While keeping her in the dark, should i just use my usual nute soup that I use for this stage or does it matter at all? Normal water, or nute soup?Option C is my vote for many reasons
Why not just leave the lights on while you're gone? They don't need 24-48 hours of darkness before harvest,While keeping her in the dark, should i just use my usual nute soup that I use for this stage or does it matter at all? Normal water, or nute soup?
I just topped up my DWC, and tonight it will have one last 12 hours of light. Tomorrow shutting it down for ~50ish hours.
Will keep the chiller and air pump going.
Because I don't want them to be "over ripe" ... if such a thing is possible? Why not just leave the lights on while you're gone? They don't need 24-48 hours of darkness before harvest,
Any pics of it now? I guarantee it's not over ripe though, lol. And the darkness thing is bro-science, .Because I don't want them to be "over ripe" ... if such a thing is possible?
And I can't be checking on them, since I won't be around. Turning the lights off ensures that they are pretty much done.
Anyway that's my reasoning. This is my first successful grow, so I have no idea, I'm just saying what kinda makes sense to me knowing what I read.
That, and that some people think turning the lights off a day or two makes the plant taste better after drying.
Something about chlorophyll breaking down before the drying even starts.
So I'm thinking ... it's a win-win.
I dont know for sure but there is some logic to it i think. Might be bro science tho. Unlike flushing, it can't hurt. Some people even reported higher thc content when left few days without lights.Any pics of it now? I guarantee it's not over ripe though, lol. And the darkness thing is bro-science, .
They're totally in the window. They look pretty good. Congrats,I dont know for sure but there is some logic to it i think. Might be bro science tho. Unlike flushing, it can't hurt. Some people even reported higher thc content when left few days without lights.
Either way, i would only be doing it to "stop" it from ripening further, if necessary. Im chopping on sunday for sure.
Here are few pics in the dark.
It would still ripen a bit regardless if you shove them in darkness ….. plant will continue to metabolize energy . It will still feed .I dont know for sure but there is some logic to it i think. Interesting. Any pics of the drying on the vine method? It would still ripen a bit regardless if you shove them in darkness ….. plant will continue to metabolize energy . It will still feed .
Depriving them of light at end is complete shit. Adds nothing to flowers , no Magic THC boost - which ironically would be boosted by Light instead . Like UV BUMP , making flowers go all frosty like throwin up more terpene goodness and fragrance to help shield a response to that light , making it sweat out the goodies. (Many growers like myself , give them a straight water diet near end week. THEN let them go dry .
I wet trim it and let it die off ….. buds dry on the vine as it were .
Take internet BROSCIENCE / Reddit / mr. Canuck / tik tok bullshit and kick it in the dick !
This was a one gallon side grow ( black Cherry soda x Cherry do si do ) .Intere

Well, honestly I haven't seen any studies on the 48 hrs dark thing, or at least experiments. So, yes... it might be bro science. It would still ripen a bit regardless if you shove them in darkness ….. plant will continue to metabolize energy . It will still feed .

Just get a quality uva light, the buds will get plenty frosty.I dont know for sure but there is some logic to it i think. Might be bro science tho. Unlike flushing, it can't hurt. Some people even reported higher thc content when left few days without lights.

Now is the hard part. Drying takes about 10-14 days. If it’s colder it’ll take longer but that’s great. If it’s warmer the air holds more moisture and it may only take 5-7 daysI came back from 2 day camping. Did not sleep more than 6 hours in total but drove 12. Around 2pm started the harvest... Did not expect this much work. Was not prepared at all... But it is what it is.
Smaller buds are in some plastic thingie will move it onto the rack of sorts tomorrow.
One plant, 170 grams of larger buds that are hanging and 70 grams of small ones on the plastic thingie.
Pica attached. Any feedback? My first harvest. Temp at 20c humidity controller set between 60 and 64..
