Drying questions

I'm on Day #7 drying at 63-69F & 60-64% RH.
*best I can do with my ac & dehum*

The buds hanging from roof in a 4x4 tent.

AC Infinity 6" inline fan is exhausting outside @ speed level 4.

Should I run a small fan pointed at floor as well, or will the inline exhaust keep enough air circulating?

Thanks!

Moving more airs certainly not going to hurt things. Can’t say it’ll help, but I’d turn it on just for ease of mind.

If you put a fan in, I’d point it to the flow on low, and turn down the exhaust maybe to 2. You want it to dry as slow as you can drag it.
Best smoke I dried was when I let it go the whole 14 days. It took that long keeping the temps & humidity between 62-66F & 60-65% RH. The thinner the branches, the less moisture they will hold onto in my experience. Chopped branches will also dry sooner than hanging whole. Just have to stay attentive to make sure they aren’t drying too fast, and make sure they are ready to jar. I hear those wood moisture meters help, but haven’t tried it yet.

Yea this is my first time so I have ZERO clue what to look for. One tiny bud fell to ground, I picked it up, tried to snap stem.. it just folded. So I assume that means it's not ready yet!

All I can do is try my best at 60-65% RH & keep it around 68-69F daytime & lower at night. And just kinda guess it'll be 14 days lol

I'll keep the fan off & switch inline down to 3.

Once a stem snaps, that means it's ready for a Grove Bag right?

I have a tent set up to dry that have a dehumidifier and humidifier hooked up to an inkbird plus an exhaust fan and filter running 24/7. I dont start actually checking until day 10 of them hanging.

You just need a "little" air flowing... nothing pointed right at them but just some airflow. 65 degrees and 60% rh is ideal for the first week, then drop your rh down to 55 for the next 5-7 days. Should be ready to buck.
Cool thanks Aaron. Next I was considering curing in a "grovebag" any experience with that or heard of any downsides?

Grab a few small temp/ hygrometers. Ones that fit inside of your finish jars.
I'll take some of the nugs and jar it up, if the RH goes over 65% pull 'em out and try again in whatever while...
If I'm on point with 60/60 RH temp it's 8 days.

Friends love the free gift of the temp gauge, though I do take most of the out to re-use.

Yes, they would be ready by the time you get the stems to snap.

Cool where can I get one (storefront) small enough to fit in a Mason jar? And I got a Grove Bag, ever tried that for curing?

Remember once your chop the goal is to be as close to 60/60 as possible. Even if you left them hanging for 20 days, it’s ok because you will store them when you feel they are ready which should mimic the SAME environment they were chopped/dried under.

Dark and as close to 60/60 as possible.

As long as you maintain the drying environment which should be the same as your storing environment it’s better to go longer than shorter when it comes to “are they ready to be done hanging?”

I recently got a beverage fridg with a digital thermostat and set it to 58F. I dry my buds for 10-18 days easy and then store them in mason jars and into the fridg.
Makes a BIG difference to maintain storing your buds post cutting them off branches in that same cool and ideal humidity controlled environment.
