I think what will tell the tale better than any indicator shy of indictments will be money. I doubt the big dark money (or any large donations) will come his way this time as it did in ‘20. He is recognized as a bad bet, a spent force even ignoring his legal perils.

The maga backbone will continue to send in money that he’ll promptly divert to his legal defense. That in itself might be a crime.

lol why you don't think the Saudi's know how to use PayPal?

Trump will have all the money that he needs.

If it is a full lineup like 2016, I think Trump wins the Republican nomination easily. If they just put him up against someone who is willing to try to become the next cult leader (like DeSantis) and goes head to head, it is a push.

Either way they lose the general to Biden.

Yeah I didn’t think of that. While what you mention is criminal, try proving it through all the cutouts.

Facebook No Longer Fact-Checking Candidate Donald Trump
Facebook will not fact check comments made by former President Donald Trump now that he officially has announced a campaign for president in 2024, CNN reported.

A Meta company memo sent Tuesday to staffers made clear that if Trump announced a presidential run, he no longer could be fact-checked on the platform because politicians are exempt from the process, CNN reported.

Later Tuesday night, Trump officially kicked off his 2024 presidential campaign.

Although Trump's Facebook account has been suspended, the fact-check ban also applies to anything he says that's posted to the platform by others.

"Team Trump," a page run by the former president's political group, remains active on the platform and has 2.3 million followers.

"Some of you have reached out seeking guidance regarding fact-checking political speech in anticipation of a potential candidacy announcement from former President Trump," a manager on Meta's "news integrity partnership" team emailed fact-checkers on Tuesday before Trump's announcement.

The memo noted that "political speech is ineligible for fact-checking. This includes the words a politician says as well as photo, video, or other content that is clearly labeled as created by the politician or their campaign."

A candidate need not formally register with the Federal Election Commission to be considered a politician, according to Meta's policy.

"We define a 'politician' as candidates running for office, current office holders – and, by extension, many of their cabinet appointees – along with political parties and their leaders," the memo stated, CNN reported.

"If former President Trump makes a clear, public announcement that he is running for office, he would be considered a politician under our program policies," the memo concluded, according to CNN.

Meta spokesman Andy Stone told CNN the memo was "a reiteration of our long-standing policy should not be news to anyone." Facebook's policy states that politicians are exempt from fact-checking, although they lose this protection once they leave office.

The former president could return to Facebook soon. Senior Meta executive Nick Clegg in September told Semafor that Trump's ban could be lifted as soon as January.

Parent company Meta pays third-party fact-checking organizations to apply fact-check labels to misinformation across Facebook and Instagram.

Both Republicans and Democrats have criticized Meta's fact-checking program. Many GOP members say the fact-checking goes too far, and many Democrats say it doesn't go far enough.

Yesterday's Smerconish.com poll.

I voted no of course. And it's a little irritating that CNN covered his low energy stupid speech live.

I switched to MSNBC to see how they were covering it and Trump was in a silent corner square while the girls on screen just talked about it briefly.

The guy is just plain toxic at this point. I still say all that coverage CNN gave him in 2016 helped him get elected but a lot of people thought he would change into 'presidential mode' if he did get elected and tone down his bullshit. Which never happened.

A silent square in the corner is all he deserves until he gets nominated, if that even happens.

The electorate obviously rejected his high profile BS denier candidates last week and he tries to spin it he was 232 - 22 in the last election?

I'm in Pa 14 where Guy Reschenthaler literally ran unopposed and was one of the 147 idiots who voted not to certify Biden, even though most of them ran on the same damn ballot. Did election fraud get them in too? Lol.

I called Harrisburg Dem HQ to inquire why this guy was unopposed. Left message, no return call.

I wonder how many signatures one needs to get on the ballot? I don't give a flying fuck that this district evolved into an R+10 district, somebody should have their name on the ballot here.

Never would have happened when the Greatest Generation was alive. Back when it was a D+10 district (although modified multiple times from censuses) and loaded with union voters with good union jobs that declined with steel plant modernization here. 500 now do the work of 2300 at my old plant. Which is why I always laughed when Trump guaranteed he'd bring jobs back. You can't bring back antique equipment without high tech computer control that required more bodies to operate.

I agree with you, i just have zero faith that'll ever actually happen so fingers crossed for death instead
I find your lack of faith disturbing.

movie quotes aside, you illustrate why I think it is crucial that you and I see him destroyed by the judicial machinery he worked so hard to subvert.
