Is it legal to trade seeds?

All it would take is a legal disclaimer every user would have to acknowledge freeing the site and it’s mods from any liability.

The people complaining to mods seems pretty unacceptable

It would be a bad idea to have seed trading. So called trading would inevitably turn into people selling seeds. You'd have people bypassing the the paid advertiser requirements. There are already seed vendors in the Rollitup Advertisers section.

There would also be those that purchased seeds from someone and for some reason or another were unsuccessful in germination or a successful grow and would start inflammatory posts about how they got ripped off and so and so is selling hermie seeds, etc... There are plenty of other platforms that already allow open trading of cannabis seeds and some are devoted to nothing else.

Funny. I never experienced any of that. Not saying it couldn’t happen but sure not my experience.

I think the policy is no selling goods of any kind. Lights, nutrients, seeds, etc... without becoming a Rollitup Advertiser. That's a common practice on web forums and pays for the site operations.

Since there are already seed banks paying to advertise on this site and have threads in the advertisers section it's apparently allowed. They just aren't allowing the forum to be used as a free marketplace where people can sell seeds. That seems reasonable. Gotta pay to play.

I’ll guarantee you that advertising fees are far above anything I sell. I’ll bet a months charges would do that.

Anyway that’s why all I say here is DM for my email. No way that’s a threat to any commercial operation.

Can we kindly ask what would be needed for trading to be allowed? Honestly i know 2 sites i can do it on, but i dont like them.

I see everyone is curious and i think its better to have the information straight from me rather than spitballing

There are several reasons why we dont allow selling, trading etc.
First not legal everywhere, we arent specific to the usa or canada we are worldwide. and so our lawyers have said nada on it, why because people can have their forums taken down , the owner could potentially be served any paperwork regarding this and have a hassle on their hands

Do smaller forums potentially get away with it? sure, but the owner of rollitup doesnt want to have that problem on his hands should it happen.

You have to remember this is a private forum owned by one person, and they have to take all the repercussions so they make the decisions of their own forum that is smart for them,

second, you have all seen how people talk to each other on here,
the amount of times we have people get very upset that a deal went wrong at the admins and myself is a lot

Im not going to deal with peoples personal affairs', and people make me apart of that. While anyone with common sense knows I'm not responsible for 2 peoples deals going wrong people try to make me responsible, and its alot of drama and headache to deal with
To run an entire trading, selling etc aspect is a lot more work than I think anyones thinking you simply cannot leave it and be done with it, thats not how it works.

I get people paranoid about leaving their addresses, names, phone numbers in our website etc.

its a lot more to manage in terms of people get scammed or having issues.


It has nothing to do with advertising i want to be full stop clear about that

If it changes as i said I will let you know. currently no.

Also Im not a genius but im also not stupid if you say DM me after someone says theyre looking for something that still counts im not stupid. dont use the forum for that
