I suspect that is not remotely real.

Which is why I asked. I was expecting examples.
It's a movie. An animal is causing the anti electrical field..an animal that lives in the stratosphere and comes down to hunt similar to any animal that gobbles it's prey whole. It also makes that loud noise (heard around the world YTs abound) that we've heard irl and can't explain.

in retrospect I realize that. It took me a moment to realize it wasn’t serious.

in answer to schuylar's question, you would coast to a stop if you somehow killed the power source, the wheels would not stop immediately. if they engineered them that way, a short in the system could cause your bike to lock up in traffic, which would be very bad, like crossing the streams bad

we’re talking about a movie whose physics make Marvel Comics look plausible. I’m just having fun.

edit: I was thrown by “engineering question”, which presupposes real physics.
That's why I ask to see how much of it can be true in reality.

I will tell you there is no saying that life could not exist slightly higher up and come down to feed. We're discovering new animals all the time and those thought extinct. Look at the Chupacabra..a vet ran one over in Texas. She had DNA done..a combo of wolf and something else..stuffed him.

At one time he was only legend.

Frankly, I think that is a put-on. Had there been more to it than a practical joke, there would have been a burst of activity in journals like Nature.

My web search returned no biology references.

It’s a bit like believing the crap in paranormal “reality TV” on Discovery in my opinion.

this^...no way a "crypto-animal" was discovered and it wasn't front page news in Nature, Nat Geo, Science, even Time and Newsweek would be all over that shit
looks like it ought to be at Ripley's, right next to the Fiji mermaid

conveniently adjacent to the fortune teller in a box...

Another example are the fantastic tales being whispered around about Bigfoot.

In real life, sasquatches are social democrats and enthusiastic taxpayers.
