I just think that there is something wrong with a person who finds pleasure in blowing a defensless creature away. Even if there were too many of them. You really get pleasure out of hurting animals? To me thats fucked. Thats just my personal opinion.

Who says they are over-populated? We took all their land so now they have no where to go and we say they are now "over-populated"... ?? I think its humans who are over-populated
I really dont want to argue with somebody who has zero information about the subject but go google overpopulation of bears in ontario. I'm one to say they are overpopulated. Before the hunt there was roughly 25 cubs a year that got abondoned. In 2008 there was over 2000. Why? Because theres an overpopulation of bears and the fathers kill mothers for food. So yes ill go "blast away" all these poor defense-less animals in the name of conservation and the fact that I actually care about the environment. Btw its a much more humane kill than whatever your farm raised catlle pig or chicken receives.

I dont want to argue with anyone either dude. Everyone has different opinions and I do not know anything about the Ontario bear population. Im just saying personally I could not shoot an animal. Anyway, dont want to argue! Peace

I bet you could shoot a bear if it was charging you or about to eat you.

dude shot it, hit it and it kept right on coming. tried to eat his head. 250 stitches and staples in his face to fix him. said the bear had his whole head in it's mouth. you have to gouge the eyes and punch it's nose.:blsmoke:

That guy provoked the bear. He stumbled upon the bears kill and the bear was asleep, so instead of backing away slowly he shoots the bear before it even got up, which naturally really pissed the bear off.

I hate bears. It seems like every month or so someone around hear gets mauled by a griz. Black bears may be more likely to attack, but you have a better chance of survival. If you get attacked by a griz your either going to be mangled or dead. And If you use your bear spray correctly it will work. It's probably a lot easier said than done. I haven't yet been confronted by a griz, but I know it's going to happen sooner or later.

See the thing is though is that your way more likely to survive a griz attack opposed to a black bear. This is because black bears see humans more as food and if they attack you they are most likely viewing you as food. If a griz attacks its most likely not trying to eat you but to kill or injure you since your in its territory. Thats why you can play dead with a griz and they may leave you alone. And bear mace 90% of the time WILL NOT work. If a bear is pissed off at you the only thing thats going to stop it is a slug in the forehead not hot sauce.

Maybe it's a regional thing or something, but there are a lot more maulings and near deaths in my state from griz attacks than black bears. I will agree on the bear spray not working 90% of the time but the 10% of the time it does work is worth it(I'm still too cheap and lazy to use it).

Im talking across all of north america, if you look at the numbers of bear attacks that are fatal compared to just an injury. The black bear numbers are much higher. I never carry spray on me, one of the best ways to avoid a bear is just make sure you guys are yelling while walking through the forest. Bears are most violent when you just sneak up on them because it startles them. They have very good senses and will hear you yelling in the woods. But yeah the spray does work the odd time, but id rather not even have to take that chance. I've been encountered by bears and never had them get any closer than maybe 15 feet. How? We all raised our arms and screamed like a bunch of vikings. Thing took right the fuck off.

They really are a cool animal to observe in their natural habitat. Just have to realize that they are wild and you may just become another meal.

Btw is that your dog in the picture? If it is you have a beautiful animal and i think i can spot a snowmobile beside him.

Agreed. Bears are alright at a distance.

Yes that's my dog Ilio. And yes that's my snowmobile. My two most prized possessions.

It doesn't matter what you ride as long as you have fun.

While we're on the topic , The forest service shutting down snowmobiling on March 1st for the grizzlies. One more reason to not like bears.
