"The price of marijuana is at the lowest since the recreational marijuana was legalized in Colorado," said Andy Padilla, MSU Denver professor and chair of economics. "I believe that the decrease in price is a result of the increase of supply of marijuana." Article Mark Sallinger, 9 News.
Yeh, I think that's called capitalism. Supply and demand, it doesn't get anymore basic than that when it comes to economics. They're just concerned because the big taxes they piled on are not forthcoming. Grow your own!

What problem? Colorado is making bank in cannabis tax revenue.

Since 2012, when voters in Colorado passed Amendment 64 and legalized the first adult-use, recreational marijuana market in the U.S., the state has surpassed $10 billion in total sales. This not only represents a massive success and proof-of-concept for the future of the American cannabis industry, it also accounts for billions in tax revenues for the state of Colorado.

I was so excited when I got my med card and walked out with an ounce of awesomeness like 13 years ago. I kept blurting out stuff about weed in Sprouts afterwards. My wife kept shushing me,

been a downward trend the last 3 years though. heard this on the news just a few days ago
You don't have to be a professor to come to this obvious conclusion.

"The price of marijuana is at the lowest since the recreational marijuana was legalized in Colorado," said Alex Padilla, professor and chair of economics at Metropolitan State University of Denver. "I believe that the decrease in price is a result of the increase of supply of marijuana."

The bottom line is that while tax revenue may be below what it has been in the past the state is still getting a significant amount of tax revenue that they would not have without legalization.

agreed but i think that article also went on to say that the 100 million less in the coffers would affect programs that were kinda counting on it.

i'm sure inflation has also hurt sales. that oz and 4 vape carts and some candy you'd normally buy on payday might need to be cut back to just a half zip.

i'm still giddy we legalized shrooms. lol

Now get shrooms in store shelves and see the revenue go right back up.

Leave it to politicians to plan on revenue streams that are not reliable. Happens all the time.
