Big asS Tent grow!!! need advice!?

Hey everyone, I just got the http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=53402 grow tent. I intend to use at first one 600 watt hps and then add another 600 watt mh. Do u think i can get a sick yield? The tent is 8 feet wide 4 feet deep and 6.5 feet wide. I want to staRT OFF with 4 auto ak 47 and one white russien untill My new seeds come in the mail. Once they come in the mail, I want to start growing them 2 weeks after the auto flowers already started to grow. Do u think that ill run out of height bc i cannot start to flower my other plants untill the autoflowers are finished? Will i be able to veg all these plants for bout 2.5 months without running into height trouble after flowering? Please help !!!!!!!!!!!!! THANK YOUUUUUU

You can't veg and flower in the same tent. The height problem can be resolved easy enough by topping, or pinching to keep them from getting taller. 2.5 months is a LONG time to veg; I'm quite sure you would run out of vertical room if you veg that long. Typically you want to veg til the plants are maybe a foot tall then throw them into 12/12. That will put you at about 3' tall at the finish.

no u wont run out of room i vegged plants for longer than that as long as its not all sativa u will be fine but are going to see alot of increase in ur electrity bill also htg tents use pvc so watch ur plants for yellowing and dying from gas havent heard anything bad yet about them

thanxx u 2 for the fast reply. yea u no i heard about the pvc n thats wuts kilin me !! But the tent im getting is 8 feet wide n 6 feet tall so i heard that only heat brings on this pvc killing sh!t. What should i do!!!! I want to get atleast 1.5 pounds of mary j from 2x600 watts.. Pleasee keep talkinggggg WHO HAS GOTTEN A HTG TENTTTT?!!?!?!??! ANY PICS?!!?!??! PLEASEEEEEEEEE

I think you will be able to pull it off, I have faith. You should be able to flower the other plants and not disturb the autos, I imagine...i don't see why not... You gonna make them 600s digi right?

Thanx for anserwin man...But why digital? Does it really matterrr? i just dont want to get an unsuccusfull grow mannn please someone jus tell me i can get a pound atleast so i feel better =/. I bought the sun speaker from sunlightsheds and it sucked!!! =(

I got 2 x 1000w in my tent

I hope you got an AC, and some fans, I run dual carbon filters to get enough airflow.

If your running 2 600w you could grow a pound easy. Over 2 lbs if you get it dialed in right.

You dont need digital ballasts, they are expensive, if you have an unlimited budget get them, but theres a shit load of little things you need to get one of these running properly.


Dude, you cant veg and flower in there either. You need a closet or something, or else veg then flower, cant have both. Sorry.

They take up half a bedroom, so I use the bedroom closet, and the rest of the room has grow stuff and a table.

If your has any PVC at all in it SEND IT BACK ASAP!!!!!!

Order a Homebox or Secret Jardin, both use NO PVC.

if their auto-flowering then you should have no problem flowering them while you start the others, cause the autos can flower under normal light schedule i believe.

You will have problems trying to veg and flower in the same tent. Theres no way around it, you need seperate veg and flowering rooms or else load up the tent, flower for a couple weeks then switch to flower.

Autoflower lacks veg state, so if you use auto flower you dont need a veg room, and you cant clone them. They will flower 3-4 months regardless of environment, BUT quality IS determined by environment. You can get away without perfect 12/12 light cycles with autoflowering plants, but your buds will thank you if you give them optimal conditions.


The bad things about autoflowering plants are you need to germ seeds, hope for fems, go through the process of ordering seeds and hoping they are good. Then when you get a nice fem you cant even clone her and keep her around for a while. Autoflowering plants are better for growers who do 1 or 2 grows a year, maybe have height issues for space.

Sorry friend, but you're mistaken. Autos will flower under 24 hours of light a day and they will die/mature with age - not light schedule. I plan to do several different autoflowering plants and start my other seeds in the same tent, that way I can have the regulars already started and be flowering the autos in the same room. Hope that makes sense.

whatever the case autoflowers suck, the yield is lame. Why would anyone want to grow a small plant when they could have bigger plants, i can understand not having much space but to use a tent that size for autos is im sorry to say pretty much ignorant plus theyll probably die because of the PVC....get the homebox xxl and some real genetics, throw em under 2 600s and youll have a harvest to remember.

i know i know but with a tent that big you can grow enough that you can sell some and smoke some and still have pot when your next harvest is coming in....it just doesnt make sense to use a tent that big for autos.

Read everything first....Yes autoflowering strains will flower and die under any light schedule, but if you give them ideal lighting conditions indoor you will get better yields. And autoflowering strains dont have a Veg state so flowering and having veg in the same tent isnt really possible. Like I said before, it would be a logistics nightmare and a real hassle to have female seeds ready to go for every crop.

Autoflowering strains are best used for growing outdoor, especially if you have a shorter growing season.

What about the tents with the mylar liner instead of the white pvc liner BC, what have you heard about those?
