They don't have positions in my field at the department of corrections, so it's a moot question. I know a musician who used to work in the dept of corrections, and while he found it rewarding, it was also an emotional roller-coaster for him. To be honest, I don't really even like working in the public sector. Too much BS and bureaucracy. I've carved out a nice gig for myself at my current institution. I have a lot of freedom, and rarely have to interface with my boss. Once my CalPERS retirement is significant enough, I will likely quit working in the public sector and go back to private organizations while collecting my pension. I'm not 50 yet though, so I still need to get there to be vested, but I'll probably stay until I'm around 55.

Because Iowa going first is stupid. Changing it up every 4 years just makes good sense. It doesn't have anything to do with Biden running or not, but it might shut down some little future Manchurian candidate like Tulsi Gabbard from trying to sneak into relevance with a couple red state elections right off the bat.

I disagree with your supposition, I don't see any reason Biden doesn't run at this point.
