He doesn't sound like he thinks he's a pro, he sounds like he has a couple grows under his belt, he's confident in his abilities, and he wants to grow that dank.

I bet if he posted his plants, he would get the usual critiques about early harvesting etc, but I doubt he's inept.

Sometimes this forum is a bit too full of itself. I'm certainly guilty of it. Just because someone thinks they're the shit doesn't mean they need to be knocked down a peg.

Blemishes on the community should be removed or endlessly mocked, but a community has to accept new members to prosper. If this guy is a cunt, he will show it in due time. Until then, I'll give the dude the benefit of the doubt and my honest opinion.

Spent the last few days on Overgrow and I much prefer the general attitude over there. Riu is my home and has some of my favorite users and informative posts, but the community uses the very lax TOS to shit on one another. I love shitting on idiots, but I'll save it for the real assholes.

If this dude asks when to flush, it's game fucking on lol
I just wanna say, I really appreciate this post. I love this forum and it has some very knowledgeable people. That said there are a shit ton of people on here that are way too smart for me lol. It almost seems like some guys just wait for a new grower to post just so they have someone to pick on. These forums are supposed to be here as a resource not somewhere that people are afraid to ask questions in fear of being mocked or belittled. Sorry just my 2 pennies.

And I'm far from a idiot it's dumbass like you that come in here with a smart mouth when someone is generally just bring up something and wanting to talk about it....
This is why I've stayed off this site.. 10 yrs ago it was fine but now it's just full of dumbass like yourself..
You should continue staying off this site. Clearly we are all too dumbass for someone as generally bringing things up they want to talk about as you.

I hope that hurt as much to read as it hurt to write.

Good day to you, sir.

Edit: I encourage you to consider what it is you're trying to get from this site.

If you're trying to be a better grower, maybe participate in a way that indicates such. Right now, you are coming off aggressive, dumb, and kind of sleazy.

If you know something, share. Don't just call other people assholes for pointing out that so far you're just promoting your brand and acting like you're someone to be admired.

Never met a hydro store owner who didn't know their shit when it comes to nutes.

Hey some people got money to spend on full lines most of us don't so we run cheaper stuff, doesn't mean the expensive stuff is bad, just means it's expensive. Athena works good but if you already pay for mills just keep using that. Don't waste your time buying Athena unless you have a large reservoir say 50 gallons+ its meant for mixing large batches at a time not little buckets of it. IF you want a dry fertilizer that is more towards small growers look into MaxiGro/MaxiBloom by GH its designed to be added in teaspoons. Just a forewarning Maxi dissolves into RO acidic so you will need some Potassium SIlicate or some other PH up to hit 6.0-6.2 pH.

Also Maxi is strong be careful with dosing, I'd start around 5 grams per gallon (~3/4 tsp) and very gradually work your way up. 7g/gal is what most people use and it burned my plants.

I concur that Athena is not a good value and better options exist.

The comment about suitability for large/small reservoirs makes no sense.

X g/Gal is X g/Gal whether you're mixing one gallon or one hundred gallons; the quantity is irrelevant

Athena advises you to mix into concentrated stock solutions instead of dissolving small quantities of dry nutrient everytime you feed. Its as easy as dumping a 2 lb bag into a 1 gallon bottle and filling it up with water. This works with jacks 321 as well. The best way to use dry nutrients IMO, is to make concentrated stock solutions and treat them like bottled nutrients. Saves a ton of time.

Right on -- using Athena as a base since Boldly Grow Hydro discontinued Mills (after deep discounts on their root starter), I make up 80 gallons worth of stock solution in 5-gallon containers for veg and 4 phases of bloom I pulled from GH (i.e., 8 oz topping off every individual gallon (and then pH down as needed (for bloom, 2 ml because the water's hard)). The selling point for Athena was that it does come dry, is Mills only available in liquid?
