In two days the vote for speaker of the house takes place. If the five who say they will never vote for Kevin do as they say, there is a good chance Hakeem will lead after the first ballot. Of course they can change the rules so a plurality is enough, but it will be fun to watch.

Kevin McCarthy is still short votes to become Speaker. What could happen next?

I'm sure all the GOP members are still having nightmares about the midterms. They were beat down so bad by President Joe Rob that it inspired a new genre of bully porn. The best example of which features Dark Brandon having carnal relations with Mitch McConnel's mom. (would not recommend watching though)

Looks like Joe is having a big meeting with Mitch in his home state as soon as he gets back from vacation, bipartisanship is the word and it will drive the magats nuts! Joe is gonna help Mitch to "rehabilitate" the GOP and isolate the magats in the house, Donald will be gone and might take a few of them with him when he goes down in flames. Kevin's house would be a funhouse run by clowns and it only takes a half dozen moderate republicans from close districts to bring them all down by voting for a compromise speaker with the democrats. J6 and Hunter investigations would be a disaster for them and investigating the investigators would be even worse for them. I think Jack could potentially have cases against a dozen congress people or more, they will be called before grand juries for sure.

i'm not counting on mccarthy ending up as speaker, he's stepped on a lot of toes, pissed in a lot of cheerios...i actually have no idea who will be speaker, but i'm pretty sure mccarthy has a less than 50% chance, from everything i've been reading.

The speaker need not be a member, Cheney could do it! Nancy is retired from the speakership, but still lurking in the halls of congress talking to moderate republicans and IMHO remains their biggest threat, she can count votes and this is her natural element!
