Way Too Many Have Their Ideas

Once again.

Had a New Grower come look at my Grow.

She was very fascinated. She was mainly asking about my exhaust fans but my Son pointed out my other fans.

Then he told her that is Dads thing you don't need Fans just open your Tent.

I'm thinking not saying anything but what use is a Tent if you're opening it up?

You see it often online, one person says "nah all them rules are stupid, I didn't need to follow them so don't bother" . Not realising they running on luck and will one day be responsible for someone elses misfortune.

I'm wanting to grow not play around.

Got a New Thermometer and it is showing my other was off 6 degrees. Much better. I

From the start I have had problems with RH and Temperature in my Tent.

Got both 4 inch and 6 inch exhaust Fans. Been using 4 because I was told 6 was too big.

Went to 5 gallon Fiber Pots because I was told this was the best now I'm reading Fiber Pots will bring up RH that my plastic buckets with drain holes will be just fine.

Now was reading Topping and Super Cropping will increase my yeild but too much my yeild will go down.

Probably going to get 100 ideas not going to hurt now put them along with the other 100.
Start with the basics. Favorable environment. Air flow into and out of tent...they need the co2 in the air. Humidity...my climate has low rh in winter and high in summer. Central ac keeps rh manageable in summer but dehumidifier is an option in lieu of ac. But then heat produced by it can jack up grow room temps. Even with Central ac I'll have to crack open the tents and leave the room door ajar in the summer due to inadequate cooling in there. It's whatever works best. Ambient rh is currently in the 30s presently so i have a mister in the room and a mister in the tent keeping rh in 50s-60s. Also a little heater in there to supplement the house heat. Humidity in veg can be all over the place as within reason (I tend to strive for 50 rh or above in veg and 50 or below in flower). I use grow bags exclusively not seeing any problems with humidity from them. You'll not see root bound issues using them. I have yet to grow an auto therefore I'm in the topping camp along with LST. Basics friend.

Well I moved the Tent and got another deal to check Temperature and Humidity. I was using the thermometer on my fan but found it is showing too warm.

Undecided on switching fans.

I grow pretty exclusively like this and get between 6 and 10 oz. dry weight Indoor per plant depending on strain. I’ll list the full process and setup feel free to try. It’s close to sea of green. Keep in mind this is for photos only I don’t do auto flower since I have more than one room, I don’t have the need.

germinate, or clone into pro organic soil from Lowe’s. Clone vegetate in 1 gal pot for 6-8 weeks until 24” tall for bushier indica types or 18” tall for whispier sativas (any pot w drainage that blocks all light for roots is fine). Seedlings vegetate to the same stage just takes longer. During this period npk 7-9-5 liquid nutrients, smart tea mix, king crab beneficial bacteria, and 3 tsp of mycorrhizae per 5 gal. (It recommends 5, it throws the PPM too high in my mix at that. Really don’t like breaking over 800-900 PPM.) water temp at 72F always and 5.8-6.2 PH always.

Typically water every 3rd day watching for signs of over/under during vegetation.

1 week before I switch to flower, I’ll switch to a 3.5 gal bucket, which I know a lot of growers recommend way larger but during flower I warm the floor, helping to dry the soil base so I can water every 2nd day, as I went down from a 5 gal to a 3.5 gal I noticed less stretching, higher density and applied this technique.

switch liquid nutrients npk base to a 3-12-6 at this point, with a splash of 2-15-4 in weeks 2-4 of flower.

the only training I do is a one time minimal defoliation after 3rd week of flower. Really just focused on removing fan leaves that have completed their lifecycle and started yellowing. No topping or LST/HST/Scrog. In a 4x4x8, I can only run 3 plants though as they get between 4-5 ft. You could run quicker smaller batches and theoretically play around to the same yield but if you have a side room for vegetation, I keep a stream line. Keep 3 in the hole, 3 flowering, 3 curing. Plenty for me all year for personal consumption. Smaller plants for me means more cloning, feeding etc.

tent set up for flower is mars hydro 600W full spectrum, reflective insulation covering inside a plastic sealed room. 6 in. Carbon filter Fan. With corner lights T12 ballasts with 6700K soft spectrum bulbs subbed in corners.

for veg. I keep T5 lights it slows them down. so I don’t get any giants when they move over. They also seem to love transitioning to full spectrum + W’s.
