Awesome show of real power stay as safe as you can :hump: :peace: and here I am buying volcanic ash and you get a show and access to free ash okay I'm jealous
No need to be jealous, as beautiful as Hawaii is, we are constantly being reminded that mother nature is in charge. We just had a historic north swell do some damage this weekend, and now there’s snow on one mountain and an eruption on another. Never a dull moment here. 43C17603-2143-4C5B-BB9D-5A626FAEBFB3.jpegA12ADBF2-E840-45B5-990A-02B847373281.jpegC79BE74F-F283-45F8-B609-BCB12D0A8F27.jpeg

For you guys that use local kine soil, do you prefer menehune or niu soil? Ive used niu a few times because its cheap but my plants have run into a few issues throughout the cycle using this stuff like some kind of burn or deficiency on the leaves. Mahalo

IMO, neither one is very good straight out of the bag without being amended with other stuff.

I was thinking of using chicken manure and maybe some compost, I just got a little put off of the niu stuff tho cause theres so many rocks and pieces of bark in there, and on a previous page in this thread someone mentioned they used human sewage in their mixes which really put me off if thats true.

I'm not sure if they use bio waste in their mixes. I know menehune magic is made from recycled community greenwaste. If you are opposed to using bagged soil from a grow store, your best bet is to just mix your own soil...quality compost or earthworm castings will be the hardest thing to source, i suggest making your own if you can.

im definitely not opposed to it, its what i normally do, I dont use the soil at my house because it's like sand and clay, I think I could fix it eventually by planting cover crops but for now Im just going for the best local organic storebought soil and amendments I can use that's affordable.
