He was advised by lawyers and warned by the national archives and the DOJ, he doubled down on stupid and ignored all advice and warnings. Donald stuck his head in the sand and left his asshole in the sunshine, he did it to himself and has no one to blame. In the case of Biden and Pence staffers might take some heat for fucking up, but that should be the end of it. If Donald had turned all the documents in when requested after several chances, we would never have heard about it, Donald fucked up epically here and the kingpin should go down first and fast over it, with not much need to offer deals for his ass over J6.

If Uncle Joe, has classified documents in his possession from when he was a senator, that would mean he was in possession of them for over 16 years now. At the very least whoever checked those documents out to him should be fired. I think Uncle Joe has shown a systemic breach of trust and mishandling of classified document.

I guess ya have to search all the senators and ex senators homes now, I'm sure some will turn up! Looks like Pence and Joe share the same non criminal foul, Donald not so much, mostly because he's a stupid asshole.

They should have consented searches like Biden did and get the DOJ stamp of good house keeping. Pence was cleaning up lose ends getting ready for his POTUS bid when his lawyer found them. I'm sure after this senators from both parties will be cleaning house and calling in finds. A US senator probably accumulates dozens of boxes of paper every year and maybe the US government should provide free storage for them, or at least go through every box, stamp and seal it for them.

Being in office does give them some reason, security and latitude, it's when they leave office that is at issue. Senators can accumulate secret documents from decades ago, depending on the committees they served on. As I mentioned McCain's papers could contain some too, since he dealt with military and intelligence matters a lot. How many boxes of paper a year does a senator accumulate? How is it stored? Maybe the national archives should expand it's services and offer free storage and vetting of documents to congress people.

I was actually thinking about long time members of the house or senate, who have been careless over the years, and have a few buried in the magazine rack next to their vibrating Barkalounger, people who have changed office space and left stuff behind, or thrown it into almost forgotten storage units.
