Even when things work out ok, life exhausts you.
My step daughter was pregnant. They already had two girls and wanted a boy, and got one this time, but he scared the shit out of all of us.
She had to go in for an emergency C section a couple of days ago, 5 weeks early. The placenta separated from her uterus and the baby wasn't breathing on his own.
An ultrasound found a shadow on his brain, and an mri showed blood from a subarachnoid hemorrhage. They were worried that he had a minor seizure, and put him on a breathing tube.
He's now off the tube, breathing on his own, and they said the hemorrhage has stopped and did no damage, but it was a tough couple of days.
I'm not a very emotionally expressive person, and i had to just walk away from people several times.
I've made the argument before that the cult of child worship is silly, and i still feel that way, but i would have been broken if he had died, or been seriously impaired...
Guess it's a lot easier to be objective from a distance.
Glad everything worked out for your family, the child worship thing leads to young adults having to learn in their 20's things kids of my age had down in their teens,EG. looking people in the eyes, dealing w/being told no and dealing w/disappointment,or being oversensitive. When I was commiserating w/neighborhood kids it was NOT called a "play date". When nuns belted me lawsuits did NOT result. On the positive side, young people are more adjusted and way less judgemental on racial issues, though I myself always observed that good and bad existed in every race including mine.

Why in the fuck is this allowed? Water rights should NEVER be allowed to be privately owned, EVERY drop should be federally owned and administered, within boundaries, by the states the body of water is in.
Just like prison. I had a very nice Lyft driver who worked the system like me, Johnny on the spot, do everything and anything..it gets you nowhere if you're not part of the club. Everybody's work has a special little club; some more visible than others. He believes after what he saw there should not be privatization of the prison system.

Do any of you guys buy gas at Costco or Sam's? Do like 25-50% of your fellow gad buyers end up failing at the task? Just getting mad at it and driving off.

I wonder what the venn diagram looks like for various topics.

they have one next to a target here and you can't even get out of targets parking lot because the people are lining up for so fucking long it drives me nuts

I have no reason to buy bulk shit food so I don't shop at either

You have to watch it, a lot of stuff is actually more expensive. I stopped going to Costco (it’s always packed with the most unpleasant people) and when the renewal comes up I’m canceling.

Costco sucks.
i don't think i've ever been in a costco. Sam's is kind of the same, but i still like going, because it's far enough from my tourist town that the prices are substantially cheaper, even considering that it is Sam's. Everything here is at least 10% higher than it is 25 miles away outside of the tourist zone. usually more like 20-25%

i cook a lot, i buy olive oil, spices, flour, things that don't go bad quickly. if they have decent looking meat, i'll get some and break it down, vacuum package it and save a LOT over buying it locally...they don't give us a "i'm a local, don't charge me tourist prices" card...

just got a "new" vehicle, a 2018 jeep renegade.
i like it, it gets about 25 city, 32 highway, at least the way i drive it.
seems like a pretty solid little vehicle, only had 28k miles on it when we got it, and has a lot of bells and whistles our last vehicle didn't have.

Limited choices here, we have food city, publix, and kroger.
I live in Pigeon Forge, Tn, which is a tourist mecca...so the prices here are outrageous. If you go to Knoxville or Maryville, pretty much everything is ten to twenty percent cheaper, but you have to buy in bulk to make the extra 50-60 mile round trip worth it.
