I think that certain sensitive information was withheld from Trump during his "presidency" by senior Pentagon officials because they didn't trust him not to misuse it

Look at their and source in their own article. Look at the DOD statement. It wouldn’t be the first time, but you fell for more Trump hysteria from “anonymous sources”

It was probably in the PDB that Trump never read or paid attention to and after a time people around him probably figured the less he knew the better.
