Maybe if you have deep pockets. I dunno, seems like way too much money for a pack of seeds.DJ Short F5 Blueberry is for sale on DCSE for $159 per pack.....I'm wondering if it's worth a shot.

Oregon elite seeds sometimes has sales for like 50% off for black Friday and 4/20. They seem pretty expensive without a sale. The 90's blues packs are much cheaper.DJ Short F5 Blueberry is for sale on DCSE for $159 per pack.....I'm wondering if it's worth a shot.
This is JBC. I realize this isn't the only shop with his gear, but they're one of the best banks our there imo.I always see his gear for around $80/pack....that's lower than MOST breeders around these days lol
Let us know how that turns out!kwik seeds has basqueberry I’m growing some right now
I ran some of his BB on my patio in 2000, kind of an ad hoc grow with not a lot of effort put into it and I was pleased with the BB terps and the smoke. Pretty plant too boot.I see predominantly disappointed customers who run the current DJ blue. Sterile males are a big complaint lately. If I was dead set on running DJ's genetics, I'd be looking at 90's blues or f-13.
I wouldn't grab a pack unless it was half that for the F5 anyway. The reviews I have read and rumors are that it is no good. In fact I have read that not even the shorts are using it for breading, if you notice all their x's use the f4 stillDJ Short F5 Blueberry is for sale on DCSE for $159 per pack.....I'm wondering if it's worth a shot.

I don't think that I follow this f4 vs f5 logic. They're probably using the f4 simply because it's what they've selected and what is not publicly available. I'm not saying the rumors aren't there for the current f5 release. But there are reports of people finding good things in it and even the real seed company uses it to make their f6's. You're certainly right about paying full price.I wouldn't grab a pack unless it was half that for the F5 anyway. The reviews I have read and rumors are that it is no good. I'd rather give Blue Star my money, but that's just me. He seems to care alot more about his end product and he's active in the communiy.I don't think that I follow this f4 vs f5 logic. I agree that he is more active. Dj was once more active even doing cannabis classes and handing out clones, but I haven't heard of him doing that recently. Blue star is accessible responding to emails and forum messages making blue lines available while dj is also helping do selections for him for their collaborations and giving him access to his seed stock.I'd rather give Blue Star my money, but that's just me. Contact blue star. He has family blues v3 which is a fem line now. It's blueberry crossed to his Mayberry which is a blueberry crossed to deathstar. He claims it has blueberry smell and taste. What would be really nice would be a feminized blueberry that puts out the smell AND the taste. I don't have the time or inclination to find a male to breed. I just want to grow the plants that have the taste. I've had blueberry strains that smell great but taste like gunpowder when you hit them. Sometimes, it's a real pain in the neck to have known the real blueberry strains from back in the 70's and 80's. Those old versions had the smell and the taste before the breeders bred it out.
I don't think I'll ever understand what means what when it comes to F4, F5, F6, S1....etc. I always assumed that the higher the number, the more stable and consistent the plants would be. So, that's why I assumed that an F5 blueberry would be more stable and consistent than an F4. Anyway....I'm glad I asked!
I hadn't seen that dj short f4's were available. Are you maybe referring to when sagarmartha or dutch passion were originally releasing blueberry before dj made his own release? The F4's were available for a while until they released the F5.
I have not heard anything positive or to rephrase, I have not heard of anything Blueberry from the Blueberry F5, so I will def be interested in what you read.. I have heard people say 'good quality bud, just not bb"

Generally more stable, but the subsequent filial generations are only as good as the selections used.I don't think I'll ever understand what means what when it comes to F4, F5, F6, S1....etc. I always assumed that the higher the number, the more stable and consistent the plants would be. In theory yes, but proper selection is needed....poor selection led to the bad reputation of the F5.What would be really nice would be a feminized blueberry that puts out the smell AND the taste.
