Besides, having to wait 10 months to produce photo bud while knowing they I can produce the same quality and amount of bud in 2 months makes growing autos la no brainer in my opinion.
But to each his her own.
That statement couldnt be more wrong.
I have never had a photo grow last 10 months, 5 is about average. Your assertion that you produce the same quality and quantity in 2 months is something out of the land of make believe

Yessiree. 6 gal brewer bucket for res and 5 gal bucket for pot. Gives a little more room for res and roots.
Just started a double grape in my first sip, 5g HD bucket and 3.6 growers pot, used a smaller pot through the 3.6 for a wick.. FFOF, EWC and perlite.. figers crossed lol just started taking off the past few days. Super slow start

you have to worry about keeping the top layer a bit moist? Like a shower cap or straw cover? I just have it exposed to open, looks dry but plant is growing.

You can let it dry out a little… will keep the gnats down. Use black trash bag and make hole in top for seedling and fill tube then tape bag to bucket. This will keep moisture in. I haven’t covered mine in the past… I will this time. Just keep uncovered and water from top til you are sure it’s drinking from res, then cover top and water thru tube for duration.

Nice. I haven’t water from top in a while but will do the bag over it when I see roots out of the wick. Thank you

I like to grow autos because I hate the photo hassle of having to veg a plant to adult hood. Then having to flower it for 8 - 20 weeks, or train a clone for 3 months all this so that the photo produces well.
I especially dislike waiting 4-6 mounts for my bud to cure into something that barely makes decent smoke. Meh mids is real with photos.

Dude if you veg a clone for 3 months you better dedicate a 5x5 for it alone

Even then strains flower from 8-20 weeks which is 2 to 5 months
So 8 months total
I dont think you know what your talking about..

Lol at 2 months harvest for autos

Auto's have a lot of good traits, but yielding the same as a photo grow in only 2 months is a stretch.
The longer growing auto phenos compete well with photos though. I would grow them, but the lack of control of when flowering starts is a no go for me. Seen too many start flowering immediately, while others actually turn out to need shorter days to flower

You don't have to veg a photo to adulthood, plenty of people run them 12/12 from sprout. 20 weeks flowering? That's true of some tropical landraces but what does that have to do with autos/photos? Yes you can top and train a photo, or not. Yield is dependent on a lot more than just topping and training. 4-6 month cure.. barely decent smoke.. meh mids is real with photos.. Huh? Ya really lost me there.

I agree with the 3 month veg statement. The flower for 8-20 wks? Maybe 8-12… unless you are growing tropical landrace sativas. I do 4 photos in SIP’s with 6wk veg then flip. Never had a grow indoors with photos go past 140 days. 2 1/2 months is standard flower time for most hybrids and indicas. Obviously sativas take longer. But there are fast flowering sativas out there…

Last grow i tested out 24/0 from seed and found my plants showing sex around 4 weeks. Under 18/6 it is usually more like 8 to maturity.
That grow was finished out 9 weeks of 12/12 later, and the fastest for me from seed.
