My son on my Yamaha V Star 1100 back in the day.
My 71 Pontiac Lemans Sport and the 455 engine. I did all the crappy body work and had a shop shoot the color for me. Built the first engine at the Ft. Beautiful. Stock 455? I forget what yr Pontiac switched from the 400s to 455s

Too dangerous. I was a passenger in a collision (off the side of the highway and down a hill into a tree. No airbag on my side). Fortunately, I had my safety belt fastened. And they do not look safe to me at all anymore. The fun is gone from when I was a teenager. All I see now are potential injuries or worse from the lack of safety features compared to newer models. This was not instant. Over the course of time from teenager to mid-late thirties. Specifically, most likely from ceasing alcohol use, although never a heavy user, with most being recent before stopping (weekends, college, then with dinner at home), with potential effects of cannabis encouraging me to ask questions sometimes. People did not seem big on changing their oil over the years, and there seems to be a consequence for that. (Many) people do not really know how to do the work at all, yet there are glorified media projects like illegal racing on television. You can say you are a mechanic; it does not seem to be worth much. People do not usually know where the air cleaner is in my experience. What if my opinion is that people should stop Twitter and start building electrical, is that opinion popular?

I just made a thread for gearheads( car/bike geeks). Not necessarily racing

The first one was, this has ported iron heads, solid roller cam with fairly high lift for a Pontiac, stroker crank, also .030 over so it really a 488 cu inch motor. Ceramic coated Super comp headers with Dual old school glass packs and a cut out to run open headers. Should be around 425-450 HP and 550-575 lb ft of TQ. I run conservative 3.55 gears in a Tru posi setup because it's mostly for cruising around town with an occasional beating of an import lol. Rumor has it there may be a blue bottle in the trunk for special occasions as well.

Haha nice! Love and hate relationship with the old cars with me. Can't beat the style of the 60s and 70s. But man, they always need work done.

I ran a LX 5.0 for years on the street racing scene in DC. Had a 414 stroker motor with low compression for the bottle. 3 stage kit for 500 HP with full electronics and tranny brake. Best time was 9.52 @141.7 and I lost it in a fire at Cecil county dragway when a nitrous backfire burned through the firewall and damn near cooked me. They were fast but the ass end was way too loose on those 87-93 Fox bodies.
