2 tents, one exhaust

Hello everyone
I'm about to set up a new 2x4 tent alongside my 4x8 and was wondering about exhaust. I have my 4x8 ducted through a wall into a crawl space and vented outside the home. Was wondering if I could simply tie in the 2x4 to the 4x8 exhaust with a simple "Y" instead of having to run a whole new vent setup. The 2x4 will have its own fan and filter prior to the "Y" junction. Here's a rough sketch of what I'm thinking, sorry I'm no artist lol.. To me it makes sense on paper but not sure if this is a bad idea for some reason? Thoughts? Thanks!

It will work...also can just use 1 6inch filter at the end of y-piped both ducts together...and 1 6inch fan can draw from both tents......I go with 4inch intake ,and 6inch exhaust making sure theres enough air getting in, not just coming out.

Hadn't even thought of that, thanks for the idea! Inline filters seem to be a bitch to find, I have one for the 6 inch already in place but cant find one for the 4 inch. Using the same filter would be sweet!

Oh, sweet. I searched and searched when I first started growing because I use two conjoined tents. The only issue I could see is the filters not working as well because they are only sucking air through the port instead of the entire surface area of the filter.
Not sure how it works exactly, but they said to change the direction of the filter after each grow for even wear. I still can't find a 4 inch inline, other then this which is designed for a septic stack. Don't see why it wouldn't work tho..

I think I linked the 6 inch but they make a 4 as well. What's cool about this design is the charcoal is replaceable

I'm currently trying to figure this schematic as well tying a 3x3 tent with a 4 inch filter/fan to an existing 4x4 tent with a 6 inch filter/fan exhausting out through a 6 inch window dryer vent.

Thee are of course 4x6x6 Y's but I think there would also need to be a separate back flow damper for both the 4 inch and 6 inch flex duct before the Y?

I pretty much have an idea of how that would all go together but I'm unsure of the best order of things. The carbon filters will be in the tents and flex tubing to and from the inline fans to dampers then to the Y and flex to the dryer vent?

If anyone has any thoughts on or has rigged one of these I'd love to know what you know.

So far my setup with the 4x6x6 Y seems to be working pretty good. I wonder if there is a more efficient way tho, looking forward to hearing what you come up with using the dampers

I ran something similar for a few years. Had a 3x3 with an active 6 inch intake which ran with an active 6 inch transfer into a 4x4. Had a standard 6 inch filter + fan inside 4x4 tent which vented out through a window.

This y set up will work fine but if the small tent is veg only you don't even need a filter on it.

A section of girlfriends pantyhose will work as intake filtering, after some time buildup on it will need replacing it , when using 1 tent just disconnect the Y"s and one 4" fan intake and the 6" out dimed down some.
