Remember this guy?
Remember him? I loved him back in the day lol. I always named my created characters on PlayStation Phil Baroni and just did pure stand up lol

I had to leave during the 3 round of the Islam vs. Volk fight to pick up my son from work. But that was a really good fight from what I saw.

The card was great, even the prelims.

In my experience, watching boxing or mma for the main event is a coin flip. I like watching the whole event, make an evening of it. You never know when you'll see a future champ start their run, and the guys fighting for pennies tend to put on a show.

Worth re watching. Not conventionally exciting, but knowing where each man's strengths are and seeing the fight play out was amazing. About to rewatch the main card with my girlfriend before going to a super bowl party. I know that doesn't mean much to a stranger, but it takes something special to get me to rewatch a card the following day.

I watched every prelim fight for years. It's a little harder now because there are so many cards, but I'm always keeping an eye out for the potential world beater or just next fun personality.

The personalities are as much of a reason to follow than the actual fighting. Aside from the occasional wife beater, fighters are an amusing group of people with a wide spectrum of personality types.

My brother and I have talked about starting an old school pro wrestling federation where it's mostly promos, and the actual wrestling just shows them lock up in the beginning and then cuts to the finishing maneuver.

Jones is going to ragdoll Gane. Trips galore. Dude is going to look like he just got off of a long boat voyage.
Until I see J.Jones lose I'd agree,Jones has a scary arsenal, dude does things no one else does in MMA, side kicks, that monkey kick right to the knee/quad(nasty),all the spin attacks are all things he is not afraid to throw and I've never seen him dominated grappling. Only things that are of concern are Jones is fighting as a heavyweight for the 1st time and how that effects his stamina and speed as well as getting hit by a bigger opponent. Jones also is 35 yrs. old now and while I think he is a superb athlete and has relatively low mileage fighting sometimes (not all) people start to drift from their prime at that age (inactivity as a fighter as well). If he hardly drops any of his speed and stamina w/25-30 more lbs. on him then he's good,if he doesn't like the stand up for whatever reason (feels Cane's power and doesn't like it) he can just go the ground and pound route w/those viscious elbows. The other dude is really dangerous on the feet, but I don't think he can deal w/Jones on the ground.

I doubt Jones is going to get suckered into a standup fight with a bigger, high level kickboxer. I'm not sure if Jones can actually KO him. I watched Gane's last fight right before I posted that last comment and noticed that he always slightly off balance. I think jones will stay outside and then close the gap at every opportunity.

All of that said, Jones likes to beat people at their own game. So we might see a slick kickboxing match.

I actually think Alex Pereira has a better chance of beating Jones. Dude is huge for is weight class and his hook is sneaky at close range. I feel like he would get thrown around less than Gane because he's more controlled.
